Thanks for adding it all over the place! And I'm glad you like that little twist. Hope the rest lives up to your expectations.

I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and you picked a good time to catch up. Chapter 24 just went up!

It means a ton to me that you feel so invested in the story, especially since you picked up on Soarin's treatment of his relationship with his mother. And I'm not gonna lie, the fact that it made you cry kinda made my night. Hope that doesn't mean I'm a psycho.
Chapter 24 is up, too. I don't know how far you've gotten, but regardless, enjoy!
Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!! So frustrating! What did braeburn talk about with his parents, as far as what was said? When is soarin' gonna kick bronze's ass? And now i need to know if he's going to find his mother and try to work things out. How well will that go? Can't wait for the next chapter...
To quote someone else, namely a Hearthstone Card:
Sweet mother of Balder, I felt ready to tear off my shirt, gather and axe and maybe twenty of my kinsman and go "Hey guys! I think we found someone deserving of a blood eagle! "
That entire letter just filled me with a rage which really should be vented in viking fury, sadly I cant do that......
...
...
...
So... instead I am just going to vent it in saying how lovely your story is, Vivid, I have been following it for a long time, and I can tell you, i am going to continue reading this till the end! ^^
Did Soarin talk about his mother previously? Can't seem to remember when...
Very emotional chapter; didn't skip a beat from the last one at all. Of course, the expectation of what is to come is there.
Very good update. Great description of love by Soarin'. Everybody talks about love at first sight, about that big wow, but it is indeed made of those little things, of little words, gestures... Thanks for those true heartwarming moments.

Sadly, that's life sometimes. We often feel like having just one more piece of the puzzle would make it all fall together, and we never seem to have as much information as we want. For this story, part of it is just the limitation of the format: Soarin' wasn't there, so he doesn't know everything they talked about.
Of course, some of it is intentional, and I hope thinking about these things can help put you in Soarin's horseshoes. I intend to answer most (if not all) of the big questions in time. Thanks for the feedback!

Remind me not to incur your wrath.
Plus, imagine how Soarin' felt reading that letter.
Thanks for sticking with this story for so long. Long-term readers like you are the reason it's still going strong.

Yep! He opened up to Braeburn about it back in chapter 14 during their fight at Braeburn's house. It was after Soarin' had showed up on his doorstep and Braeburn had let him inside. Surprised you didn't remember, though, since it's not like I posted that chapter last... October... or anything...
oh god oh god oh god
Glad you liked the chapter! I'm curious which expectation, specifically, you are referring to, though. It feels like I set up a lot of stuff, and I'd hate to drop the ball on something.
6026334
Sounds like you understand how love really works. And thank you. I'm very happy I get to share all these little moments with you.

The chapter was definitely frustrating on many levels. Since it is from soarin's perspective, i can't very well expect the whole story.
The first line of the letter immediately pissed me off, i think I've become too into this story. I'm also pretty sure that bronze is gonna get his ass kicked... I hope.
It seems to me they both have each other down. Manipulation seems to be an easy thing to do, but i haven't seen, or recalled, any abuse of it. They both know each other, perhaps too well.
I was originally gonna state what i first thought when braeburn told him to keep it down, but i decided against it.
I can only hope, at this point, that i can hold on long enough to not have a hard attack from the long wait, no matter the actual duration, of the updates on this story.
did i ever tell you this is one of the two stories I'll drop nearly anything I'm doing to to read updates?
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd caught up. Very heavy, very well-written chapter. I want to see Soarin confront his mother and Bronze now. Hope the latter gets his ass kicked to the curb!
I gotta say, this story is absolutely amazing. I've never read over 130K words in one day, so major props to you for making me do that. This one's going right on my userpage, you hear?

The pure wrath of the norponies strike the dishonorable!
And yea, I can imagine Soarin just ready to spread some "Justice"
Keep up the good work man! We are all here for you!

Between you and 6028027 , it looks like I got the reaction I wanted (though now I want to read a story about "Norponies" )
Also, can I asked what you meant by, "It seems to me they both have each other down."?
And I don't you've mentioned that before, but it's an honor! Now I'm curious what the other one is. My most recent one was Sombra the Highly Unmotivated.

"Hey, Vivid! Did you hear that one of your favorite authors read two novels' worth of your writing in one sitting?"
"V... Vivid?"
Holy cow! I can't tell you how cool it was to wake up and see a billion comments from you on all these chapters. Thanks for taking a look, and I'm so happy you've found it so engaging! I may have taken a screen shot or two of your user page.
I'll try to respond to a few of the comments you peppered throughout the story when I have a chance, and again, thanks for reading it and for the bump! If you've got anything else you'd like to add (or any other feedback), I'm all ears.
6029107
Norponies? ya, tell me if you find any.
never wish. It's the second part, never dream, I'm referring to. I'm not sure why i love it, but it doesn't have enough attention, imo.
6029107
As for the comment i made... I'm still not sure how to go about explaining it, but it seems they have each other wrapped around their hooves. Though they haven't said it yet, it's obvious they love each other, And i dread finally reading what we all fear to come. soarin's ability to get braeburn to talk to his parents, and braeburn to convince soarin' to at least put some serrious thought into his own mother. They seem to know, or at least think they know, what's good for the other and want to make things happen to make then happy, so they give a push in that direction.
kills me to admit it, but i really have to wonder how much of the relationship is just their needs for somebody special due to lack of other parts of their lives. Soarin's dad died and his mom being how she is, and braeburn's parents seemingly rejecting him as well as bronze's way of treating him.
Hope i covered this is a good, clear and understanding way...
6029107
Haven't seen many good sombra fics, but definitely checking that one out.
6029379
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clarifying! Yeah, they've definitely both gotten to know each other a lot better in such a short time, and I like to think that they truly have the other's interests in mind when they encourage different behavior.
And those are some very insightful observations. You're right – they've both got a need for somepony special in their lives. I'm excited to show you guys how everything plays out.
6029636
I sometimes feel like a fanfilly with you two...
6029748
Your gushing is much appreciated.
nice way to end the chapter keep it up one of the main reasons I love this story cause its got clop and a story not just mindless clop
also bronze sucks
I have a feeling he's going to ruin something
6065388
Thanks! I'm trying to strike a good balance, and it's good to know it's working.
I like the role reversal between the earlier chapters and this one. Originally Braeburn was the timid and nervous one (sub-ish) and Soarin the confident one (dom-ish), and in this Soarin's nervous because he was left alone with his thoughts (something he used to hate, but has grown to the point where he doesn't fight it when it's inevitable) and Braeburn's the confident big spoon. As a writer myself, I love seeing role reversals like this.
Ew. Ew, ew, ew. The website isn’t letting me quote the letter for some reason, but the whole thing makes me feel gross. Bronze is gross. Ugh.
