I agree completely. I feel like this subject matter deserves some respect, and I'm doing my best in that regard. Wounds like that don't heal easily, and it isn't as simple as finding the next person and getting over it. Soarin' and Braeburn have a long way to go.

Well, it's somewhat, and strangely, a bit settling to know that Bronze wasn't always so cruel to Braebur, but it's still awful to know he hurt Braeburn so much, both physically, and mentally. I absolutely hate it when others blame someone for something they hardly were even aware of, at the least. It makes you find someone to be mad at, just because there's nothing else to be angry with.

Bronze hit and hurt Braeburn, just because he thought Braeburn was the source of his problems, just because he was vaguely connected to them. Bronze hit and hurt Braeburn, and it's wrong when you know Bronze should be hitting anyone who's hurting Braeburn, instead of being the reason for both of those to hurt the yellow cowcolt.

If you ever hurt and really injure, by your fist or your words, the person who is spending their joy, their happiness, their love, and maybe their life with you. Just look at them - providing you just looking at them doesn't frighten them - and realize how the person they've chosen to protect them, to comfort them, to make their day bright; is the person who is hurting them, who is making them tremble, who is blocking out the sun to ruin their day. Think about what a monster you are to them. Try to make it up to them, even if it kills you. And hopefully forget about it as much as possible and move on, being their healer, not their harmer.

If you are that person, feeling like your "significant" other has turned so horribly on you, then get out of there. Unless a mental rebirth miraculously happened to them, they're not going to stop hurting you. Take what you need, and leave as safely as you can, and do what you can to stay away from them. No matter how many happy memories you had, no matter how nostalgic you are, there are better people out there, and you deserve that.

I appreciate the act of Vivid putting the link for the NCADV website to help those in need, and for inspiring me to write this comment on a serious topic. It shows there are people out there who do want you to be safe, even if they don't know you at all.
