This was a great chapter, and coming less then 24h before the last one the editing that fast. Still I am happy that Soarin original plan didn't had a chance to be executed, and Breaburn saw throw his plan, I think it went much better then what he had expected has heart wrenching it was for him. Still was great to see an other chapter.

Thanks, Mix-Up. I actually edited these two together (with help from WordGuru), so they were done at around the same time.

All told, I think this is for the best, too, and I hope you'll still feel strongly about the rest of the story.

I could definitely imagine Soarin's narration getting more jilted as he approached this point in the story, starting from when Braeburn revealed that he knew it in the last chapter, but especially noticeable at the end of last chapter. There have been more cutaways to the present in recent chapters than in previous chapters, and a lot more ellipses when he's narrating too. Excellent job matching the style to the tone.

At least they left in good terms. It was sad, but it need to happen.

Wow... It happened. It finally happened. It's a very surreal feeling cause you've been building up to this for so long that it feels strange that we actually made it here. You capture emotion so beautifully and realistically, I love the added depth by having Soarin' frequently pausing as he relived his breakup with Braeburn. ( I think someone's brought it up already ). It was sad to see these two part ways but I love to see where it you take this next.

Dammit man, I nearly started bawling my eyes out while listening to that and reading.

Also, dammit Vivid, if I could animate worth a damn or had the money to commission someone, I'd definitely love to see this story made into a full episodic sort of series... Maybe even get voices for the characters...

In short, excellent work as always, and I sincerely hope that this story gets more attention since I personally found that this actually managed to have an emotional impact on me, and cannot summon any more words to describe how brilliant this story is.

Now since I've listened to the song a little more, the line "say goodbye to the children we'll never see" adds more to the sense of tragedy to the story, at least to me, because I thought of this picture in particular and thought that's what Soarin could've ended up having if he had taken the chances to fix and improve his relationship with Braeburn before they were past the point of no return, allowing to it to grow and deepen, possibly to the point where they might actually decide to tie the knot.
