For the life of me I can't understand why this has so many dislikes. There are stories with shitty plots that have less dislike to like ratio then this. Anyways, this is very good so far and I am living it! I hope you make him grow up gradually and not in huge time skips cause so far I love how it is!

This whole story kinda reminds me of Foal Necormancer. I look forward to seeing your spin on the premise.
One issue: Putting footnotes at the bottom of the page doesn't work, it takes you out of the story everytime you want to read one. A better option is to just put them after the paragraph, or maybe at the end of the section, as long as it all comfortably fits on a monitor.

4246640 Sort of have to, or else this story is going to take a LONG time to get to where I want it to go.
My two assumptions about ponies in this story-
1)They're a magical colonization species. Nobody can tell me that Equestra isn't a death world, and the only reason it doesn't look like the Pyrrus or Catachan is that it wouldn't be a nice little girl's show anymore. But, if you can find deadly creatures and environments like fire swamps, cockatrices, hydras, dragons, lawyers, etc, etc, within a half hour's walk of a major town...it's a Death World. Just...cuter, with pastel-colored ponies.
2)To survive #1, they have to grow up fast, have long productive adulthood, and be very capable very fast.
My rough idea of pony age brackets-
NEWBORN-Birth to six months or so.
FOAL-Six months to one year. Roughly up to the start of schooling for human children, the whole newborn/foal category gets combined with each other and are used sometimes interchangeably.
FILLY/COLT-One to four years old. Most ponies get their Cutie Mark about two years old or so, with some rough exceptions. Human development equivalency is most of grade school (K-9th grade for US school children). Magic Kindergarten is in the first six months of year one, "regular" schooling is after.
MARE/STALLION-Four years and up. Pretty much "an adult" by most pony standards. Post-grade school education is handled either by apprenticeships or various forms of job training. Something like Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns is like getting into MIT-just getting in is a mark of distinction.
I can't fathom why this story isn't more popular. I hardly ever smile during a story and usually when it happens it's because the story itself is totally outrageous. But, this story has me going with a smile all the way through.
