Private accompanies Twilight to the Royal Summit at the Crystal Empire. While there he tries to support Twilight as she continues to adjust to her new lifestyle as a Princess. But in the middle of the night a mysterious mare stole Twilight's Crown. Twilight chases the thief through a strange mirror. Private is told that she will return soon, but two days have past and Twilight has yet to pass back through. Private decides he's not about to let Twilight face a strange new world alone. Upon entering the mirror himself, he discovers a very different, yet familiar world beyond the mirror. A human high school.

Forty Two years after the return of Princess Luna, and twenty five years after the Elements of Harmony were broken, Equestria has entered a new age. The Bearers were forced to adapt, to change, and discover new ways to continue to keep Equestria safe. Thanks to the tools, weapons, and spells the Bearers have come to use over the years, Equestria, once famous for rejecting the majority of the world’s technological advances in favor of magic, has come to embrace the mechanical and the arcane in equal measure.

These changes echoed across Equestria, and traditions began to change as the average pony sought to do their part. Many by taking up arms to protect Equestria themselves as adventurers, wandering heroes, or vigilantes. Being a hero is no longer something a lucky (or unfortunate) few have to do on occasion. It’s a job. One which pays well. One which is extremely dangerous. One which might mean you only have to work one day a month. Or that you only go to work once, if you lucky (or very unlucky).

It’s a job that Orange Sherbert wants. But not for the money. Her grandparents did it before the new age dawned, as did her parents, aunts, uncles, their friends, and even acquaintances. Being a hero is her family’s business, but Sherbert is no hero.

She’s young, inexperienced, unskilled, and immature. But she knows this. She knows it and wants to become someone she feels is worthy of her family’s legacy. Someone who can save any day which needs saving. Someone who can right wrongs, and to destroy that which should not be.

To accomplish her goal, Orange Sherbet has chosen to travel to the country of Neighpone and train in the art of ninjitsu. To acquire skills, discipline, and personal growth all at once. But just what will she have to endure to achieve her goals after entering the ancient doors of Kōmoriakademī, Bat’s Academy.

This story begins Series 2 of the Equisverse. Prior cannon is unnecessary.

A former villain on the road to reformation, still facing the consequences of her past actions. Five girls, together again, thinking fondly of the help and guidance they got from the pony princess from another dimension. And one troubled boy stuck in the middle, who has given up on love, and life.

Sunset Shimmer has reformed, but she knows she must right her past wrongs—there is a boy on the roof of Canterlot High, declared worthless and unlovable by Sunset herself, ready to believe her right and jump to his death. With help from Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, Sunset must talk him down and convince him that what she said in the past isn't true, and that he deserves to live.

Meanwhile, the boy thinks back on his numerous attempts to prove to her, and to himself, that she was wrong. His solution: ask the five most perfect girls in school out on a date. Their mutual response: no. He must learn that love doesn't work that way, that a lack of romance is not a lack of love, and that he desperately needs help before it's too late.

The alliance between Equestria and Alemaneia continues to hold steadfast; Colonel Paul Werner and Generalfeldmarschall Aryanne Land's 'relationship' is at an all-time high... though that does not say much.

Things turn unprecedented, however, when Alemaneia becomes the victim. Actions against the state would never sit lightly with Aryanne, and she vows to unleash the entire military might of her nation against the offending foreign government... even at the threat of multi-state intervention in a to-be conflict. The world pleads with Equestria to rein in the fascist nation or risk a global conflict, and Paul is tasked with talking Aryanne's justified response down.

However, she'll only talk to him on one condition:

He must come to Alemaneia.

All the while, Paul must grapple with some of his biggest demons.
