A down-on-his-luck brony stumbles upon an impossible sight: Nightmare Moon, standing on a Los Angeles sidewalk! She makes him an even more impossible offer: join her in her conquest of Earth! Join Nightmare Moon and her new minion as they try (and sometimes fail) to take over Southern California - with their eventual goal of World Conquest!

This story is the opposite of a 'Human in Equestria' story, this is a Pony on Earth story. Our Earth. There will be action, comedy, slice of life and a little shipping mixed in here and there. No clop, but it does get really steamy in a couple of places. The brony protagonist will learn that there are heavy consequences to pay if you want to try and fulfill your fantasies with an Equestrian villain.

But oh, they're SO worth it.

Trapped by Diamond Dogs he realized just how useless his defenses against the strange and mystifying were against those of the material realm. After weeks of servitude to the dogs, help finally came in it's most unexpected form. Now he could finally go back on the hunt for the occult.

Why can't anything go as planned? All I wanted was to go on a date with the girl of my dreams, finish college, and hopefully settle down with a family somewhere. However, due to an unlucky set of circumstances, I am instead thrust into a world of magic and intrigue, forced to do battle for the amusement of bored Demons and Gods.

On top of that, my patron deity is a lying, stingy jerk who's only goal seems to be my immediate discomfort and misery.

However, I can't just back out. If I do, I will never be able to return home. At least, I'll never be able to return home in one piece...

This story is inspired by (not copied from) the chessverse. It has absolutely no bearing on that universe, will not feature any of the unique characters from those stories, and will not involve it in any way. I just liked the idea of a story about the Gods playing with the lives of mortals, and wanted to take a crack at the idea.

Following a crazy week where her entire being was turned upside down, Cheerilee is perfectly happy as both an earth pony and as the one mare faculty of Ponyville Elementary. Now that the school year is through, she makes her annual plans to volunteer in the town's summer school program, even if it means having to possibly deal with the clique of three unicorns who fancy themselves her professional betters and belittle her constantly. But this is nothing new, nothing she can't handle.

However, when Mayor Mare pulls Cheerilee aside and informs her about Rainbow Dash having lost the ability to fly due to an on-the-job incident, it becomes clear that this is not going to be another routine summer. Forced into being Dash's last hope of ever flying again, Cheerilee is going to need all the help she can get to take education to new heights in Ponyville. The only recourse she has is to regain her wings and hope that she can pass this challenge with flying colors...if she doesn't just crash and burn in the process.
