Some time after Twilight's coronation, she and Starlight have a conversation.

(Contains spoilers for the finale of season nine)

Castling is a special move in chess involving one of the player’s rooks and the player’s king. The move consists of moving the king two squares towards a rook on the player's first rank, then moving the rook to the square over which the king crossed. After this move, the king and the rook end up just next to one another.

And thanks to a friend’s kindness, a certain calculating, chess master filly would have a chance to end up closer to her princess than she ever thought. But can a filly like her truly leave her past behind to find another way? Can you learn to trust another when manipulation is your destiny?
Can a chess player like Cozy Glow learn to be a pawn?

You really do need to keep an eye on Cozy Glow. Turn your back for a second and she's off, away and escaping. Over the hills! Out to the sticks! Out to villages that might maybe possibly have not heard about what she did, or at least not yet.

There to plot, there to plan, there to get started on getting everything running smoothly and like it should again. Or at least get started on cooking up some revenge. Either way.

And there's also that weird alien thing she came across. He could be useful...

Sunset Shimmer's been informed of the Cozy Glow debacle, and now she's worried about Cozy’s human counterpart. Is it wrong to suspect someone based on their parallel self’s sins? Snappy character vignette that gives equal POV time to Sunset and human Cozy trying to figure out just what the other’s deal is.

Teen rating for depictions of mental illness and Cozy’s casual use of crass language. Cover image made by me slapping some EG vectors on top of each other in Microsoft Powerpoint.

This story is a sequel to The Mirror

Check out the blogpost to see the full Cozy Hero continuity this builds on.

It's time for Cozy Glow to get back out in the real world and figure out where she fits into Equestria. She's tried superheroics, supervillainy, and accidentally destroyed the world; now she has to try being normal. Yeah, probably not.

The story of a foal once thought beyond redemption, trying to find a way to fit into society and be okay with herself and her past. But this is not just Cozy's story; her actions and experiences will have a serious impact on the lives and directions of the many ponies she comes into contact with – especially her best friend, Sunset Shimmer, and her adoptive mother, Luna.

Serious thanks to Wanderer D for helping me with this. To say he was prereading would be a gross understatement. If you're one of the few people who haven't discovered him, what are you waiting for? Get over there and follow.

Thanks to Cackling Moron and Nyronus for prereading, your commentary and discussion helped keep this train running.

This story was written at a blazing fast pace for its size and complexity, and is, in many ways, my loveletter to MLP:FIM and the Brony community. Thanks to all of you for being here, being great people, and generally supporting each other.

Cozy Glow lives in a hole that goes a long, long, long way down into the dark.

In loving memory of Sunshine-Smiles. Forgotten, but never dead.

Cozy Glow awakens from her stone prison to find herself in the care of a strange, taciturn stallion. She soon discovers that the world has changed significantly from what she remembered, and not for the better.

This story is a sequel to The Hero: Cozy Glow...?

In the last story, Cozy Glow became a super hero, mostly due to severe brain damage. You should probably read that before you get any further into this description, because spoilers abound! Part of the Cozy Hero continuity.

Living with Luna's been going pretty well for the filly the past few weeks, but with Hearth's Warming coming up, Luna urges her to go out and make some real friends. Cozy has her hooves full between that, her studies, and her super heroics, but to make matters worse it seems destiny has decided to get involved and dump even more responsibility on her.

Can't a former megalomaniacal psychopath catch a break?

No?

Well, you know what they say. If you can't catch a break, make your own. By breaking things. What? It works for Dash!

If you want more Cozy after reading this, check out The Mirror.

(Spoilers for the series finale)

Cozy Glow was supposed to be stripped of her phenomenal, cosmic power when she was defeated.

Instead, she just lost her memory. Having super powers and being pursued by the authorities, she comes to the only obvious conclusion a comic-reading child could:

She's clearly a superhero vigilante!

A trainwreck of idiotic decisions follows.

Part of the Cozy Hero continuity.
