The legends of Equestria are numerous so--
Alicorns, dragons, gryphons, and zebras, yea!
But there is one more than all ponies know,
One that will ever remain their ultimate prey.

One seeks the sea's dry on the moon's midday,
But this fable chooses to whom itself to show:
Noöne is more taxed and unfortunate than they
Who had tried this gift themselves to bestow.

Now the adventures of a colt we shall follow,
One who chanced upon such a treat one day--
Then he was on a journey with his new mæstro
Wherein wisdom to circulate was given away.

What, the question gœs, is this magical thing?
Why, it's the Blue Rose-- greater than any king!

Preread by Shinzakura and approved by Eldorado. Thanks, mates!

OctaScratch, not set at band camp.

Music was in Vinyl’s blood, no one who listened to her would ever deny it. It was her favourite class in school, she almost never watched TV if the stereo was free, and her best friends, teachers, and mentors were all musicians—well, at least until her career took off and she had to start dealing with the rest of the industry.

But for someone who would be happy only ever having to think about music and people who love it as much as her, teasing apart and getting bogged down in every nuance of the culture surrounding it, Vinyl somehow forgot how much there can be below the surface when it comes to one colleague in particular. Finding herself chastised for thinking like an industry stiff and not the professional she is, Vinyl remembers that musicians are often as complicated as their work, and that she’s no less prone to making sweeping generalizations.

After putting on the Element of Magic, Sunset Shimmer was shown just how much of a monster she really is. But that wasn't all the Elements did to her.

Sunset has now been forced to serve penance by answering any question truthfully and by doing anything asked of her, whether she wants to or not.

And she really doesn't want to.

Until all of the hatred in her heart is gone, Sunset is at the whim of her peers, unbeknownst to them of course. Can her new "friends" help her down the road to redemption?

If not, there's always that other Twilight Sparkle she keeps running into.

Things aren't going well between Celestia and Luna. As tensions grow between them, it is quite clear that they simply aren't the same ponies they once were. Instead of risking the loss of each other's companionship, both agree that perhaps some distance would help them recover a little. Besides, Celestia could use the vacation anyways.

But the beach town of Dusk Falls is hardly the peaceful and quiet abode Celestia had been expecting. Amongst the boardwalks and carousels a sinister plot is unfolding, as trouble rises both in the heart of Equestria and in Celestia's new home.
