Applejack's home has many extra rooms, but one is a bit more special than the rest. A tiny guestroom sits right above her bed, with an open trap door in between. Perfect for late-night chats when the thoughts are too loud for sleep.

People with nowhere to go, or no one else to talk to. Friends in need of support, and enemies in need of friends. They all find their way to that guestroom. Applejack is the rock of the group, and that won't be changing anytime soon.

...That's the plan, anyway.

Twilight Sparkle gets a surprise phone call from Sunset Shimmer out of nowhere. It's nothing to worry about... right?

When Sunset receives a particularly lascivious text message from Twilight, she's really not sure how to handle it. Of course when she finds out it was intended for someone else, she decides finding out who it was meant for is of the utmost importance! Why? She doesn't know, shut up, it's not like she likes Twilight or anything.

Unlike the other Rainbooms – and seemingly, the rest of the world – Applejack isn't too excited about Tirek's Revenge. Expensive video games are well outside of her budget, and it’s not like anyone would just give her a copy.

Except, apparently, for Adagio.

Opposites don’t attract. There is no way a forthright, friendly girl like Applejack and a sarcastic backbiter like Adagio would ever fall for each other.

And yet, here we are.

Sunset has the perfect marefriend: she's smart, great with magic, and she happens to be a princess.

Sure, there's the long-distance hassle of living in two different worlds, but the relationship is strong. Nothing could possibly come between them.

Nothing except, perhaps, Sunset's own insecurities.

Twilight Sparkle was sitting around, not really doing anything in particular, when Sunset Shimmer called and vaguely expressed the want or perhaps need to get her to come over. Well in Sunset's company, just about everything turned into an adventure and ended up in a beautiful journey out into the early suburban night.
A journey with a clear goal. Wait, no, there are no goals... I mean. Well. It all turns a bit muddled.

Remember when Sunset yelled at Twilight for putting everyone's "lives in danger?" Well, Rarity does, and she's a bit confused—after all, how could their lives be in danger when it's quite literally impossible for humans to die?
