Following Princess Luna's return to Canterlot, Princess Celestia had hoped to return to a joint rule with her sister. But Luna, torn by guilt over her past actions and lost in a world that has changed so much since her banishment to the moon, has locked herself away in seclusion and depression. As her concerns for her sister grow, Princess Celestia calls upon one little pony, whose mindset just happens to be a few centuries behind, to reach out his hoof in friendship. Perhaps the magic of friendship could again save her sister from herself?

After an enlightening discussion with Ember, Thorax springs to action to unify the changeling race. One particularly tense encounter with a group of renegades later, Thorax returns to Ponyville to discuss current events with Spike... and he has a couple of burning questions for the young dragon.

Ruling a nation on the brink of collapse is a stressful job, and nopony knows that better than Princess Platinum. With the pressure of a starving kingdom and fraying relationships with the Pegasus tribes, she has little option other than to seek the advice of her best friend and, perhaps, to take the first step to save everypony.

One night, before Hearth's Warming Eve, Princess Celestia goes to light a fire to keep warm.

A voice in the chimney asks her not to do so.

Owlowiscious spends a lot of time thinking and trying new things. Currently he's an assistant to an alicorn princess, something he's never tried before. Sometimes being an assistant to a neurotic purple princess with a penchant for persistent productivity though, can really prickle his primaries.
