It's been a hundred years since Princess Celestia and Princess Luna were overthrown, and the Equestrian Republic was founded, a hundred years since anyone has gotten a cutie mark. So what happens when a completely ordinary pony living in the Republican Capital City of Ponyville woke up one morning and discovered that one has appeared on her flank?

There are legends of an ancient time, a time of heroes and magic, when the goddesses walked among us and ruled a kingdom. When ponies, but also pegasi and unicorns, lived together. But these are just legends.

When Jack discover an ancient book in a ruin long forgotten, she is thrust in a journey that will forever change her view of the world, and will bring back what was lost thousands of years ago, but also stir an ancient evil.

Edit : BEHOLD the new and improve version, thanks to the help of Null and Kasune who gave me a lot of advices to improve this story. The change won't modify the story, only smooth it, so you don't necessarily have to read them again.

Author note : This, is my first fanfiction EVER, and in English, which is not my native tongue, no less !
I know a lot of people claim that when they are writing, but I would really appreciate if grammar nazi could tone it done a notch. I would love to have constructed commentary, and if I don't mind you to correct me when I am making mistakes, please just keep that in mind ^^.

I plan this story to be a long runner as I have a lot of ideas that I want to put into it, but my writing schedule being a mess, I won't be able to publish chapters on a regular basis, sorry :(

Ten years after a massive war, Equestria has changed. The Empire now rules over all, giving peace and prosperity to those that deserve it, but some are against this new rulership.
The CMC, a small, raggedy group of smugglers working for the Apple family, are caught red-hoofed by an Imperial patrol. As the friends fight for their lives, they learn about themselves, each other, and the world they now reside in.
Meanwhile, in Canterlot, Emperor Blueblood has amassed a massive fleet and is preparing to smash what is left of the rebellion under the oppressive hoof of his Empire.

Pandora is the last hope of humanity, which faced extinction due to years of conflict between the Humans and the Shades, a race of shadow like huminiods that feed off of life energy. In a desperate attempt to save their species the humans created Pandora, a massive storage device that will hold all of humanity in stasis until a time when it is safe to come out.

Pan a young man had agreed to be the key to unlocking Pandora when that time comes and he was then put into a separate container away from Pandora to await the day when Pandora needs to be activated.

Many years later following the events after A Canterlot Wedding, Chrysalis queen of the changlings has lost everything. Her hive is dead and she is left alone to wander the Everfree in loneliness. She soon stumbles upon Pan's stasis tank and agrees to help him save humanity. Now the two must face danger after danger as they try to uncover the secret of Pandora and the key to humanities salvation.

A horrible Cataclysm has turned all of Equestria into a Wasteland of barren ash and twilight desolation. The Sun and the Moon have been destroyed. Everypony has died--including Princesses Luna and Celestia. But one pony miraculously survives; she is a lone wanderer, the last of her kind, surrounded by menacing creatures that hate her. She navigates the Wastes in an airship and scavenges off the blighted landscape to keep herself alive.

Then one day she meets an old companion who grants her a gift, the chance to go back in time to the warm and sunny days of Ponyville, where her dead friends live in happiness. How far will the last pony venture into this joyous age of Equestria, even if she fully knows that there is no way to change the horrible fate of everypony she loves?

A suicide-mission turns first contact when a skeleton crew and their eager captain land smack dab in the middle of Canterlot. To Princess Celestia, it's an opportunity to make a valuable ally and a new friend, just as long as she can trust them. Enter seven Equestrian ambassadors: the six ponies and one baby dragon hoof-picked by Celestia herself to observe and report their findings on what really is beyond Equestria's skies. After all, Celestia can't be everywhere.

Unfortunately for them, Equestria just so happens to be a bright red target on every star-map in the galaxy, and a peaceful tour led by a veteran of a pseudo-mercenary military known as the Wing quickly becomes a race against time to save Equestria, the worlds beyond, and possibly the entire galaxy.

That's only if they can save themselves first, of course.

Though this is technically a crossover with an existing universe, you won't find it anywhere, so there's no crossover tag for it anymore. It is primarily written for myself and a few friends of mine. Also as a note, it is largely first person and told from the perspective of one of the "human" characters - though technically he's an alien. There are a few exception chapters, but if you don't like that idea, then this was your warning. [EDIT]: There will be more third-person scenes following rewrites to the earlier chapters.

HIATUS EDIT: No, it's not dead. It's just hard to write with what I've had going on, though I am still working on both the next chapter and the quality-control rewrites for the earlier chapters. I /will/ provide links to the earlier chapters, but I've gotten a lot of negative and non-constructive comments because of them, and I feel like I should rewrite them anyway. On the bright side, the official Wingverse tabletop is in full swing with my lovely players, Plebeian, Laichonious, SilentBelle, and some other fourth guy.

Cancel edit: Unfortunately, real life took over six years ago as I got ready to graduate highschool and go to college. That, and I and my friends drifted away from the fandom at large. While I don't follow MLP anymore, I look on it fondly. I however managed to eek out one extra chapter and a large rebooted chapter with the purpose of making it more Equestria centered. And also better. This story helped me practice and while I certainly wouldn't cite it to my professors, the skills I learned from making what I did helped prepare me for my English degree and current career.

After the disastrous invasion of Canterlot, an injured changeling wakes up near a small cottage and is quickly discovered by two of the last ponies she ever wanted to see. Now, with the help of her new "friends," she has to remain undetected in a town high on changeling hysteria that would not hesitate to throw her in the Canterlot dungeons should her true nature be revealed.

Simple, right?

Too bad she couldn't have picked a worse form to stay inconspicuous...
