Twilight Sparkle has always respected the laws of science and magic. It's a respect that got her a scholarship to SGU, where she formed a small but comfortable group of friends and has received top grades in her two years there. It's a life that makes sense.

With her final year beginning and a special instruction from the Princess to bond with a fellow pupil, Twilight has enough to fill her life and her mind. It doesn't make sense that she should have recurring dreams about a mysterious mare, that this mare seems eerily familiar despite being a total stranger, or that she can recall the dreams with unusual clarity.

Twilight has questions about Equestria and about herself, and the answers could reshape her perception of both. She begins her research with a central question:

What lies beyond the edge of a dream?

This story is a sequel to A New Ending

This is a soft reboot/rewrite of my Endingverse story Endings and Beginnings, which I have put on hold for the present.

After the devastating invasion of Equestria by human turned Emperor Jason Wright, the truth about the reasons for Jason's actions has begun to come out. Ponyville has been completely wiped off the map, its once cheery buildings reduced to rubble, and with it, the happiness and joy of everypony there once they began to realize just how they were all to blame for it.

The Elements of Harmony have barely spoken to one another since that time, all wallowing in their own grief and misery. Pinkie has left Ponyville and has lost her smile, Rainbow Dash hasn't flown since the invasion, Rarity refuses to speak about it to anypony, Applejack hardly leaves her farm, Fluttershy never visits Ponyville and is only seen wandering the edges of the Everfree Forest, mourning the loss of one of her closest friends and many of her animal friends as well, and Twilight has been working tirelessly to help rebuild all of Ponyville. They've hardly spoken since that day, and their friendships are all but over.

Meanwhile, across the ocean, a second human has arrived in the dilapidated city of Gryphonstone. Unable to visit the land of Equestria, which had been his dream, and after accidentally recovering an item that holds special significance to the gryphons, Gregory Graystone settles in and makes friends and allies in the crumbling city, some expected and others unexpected.

As the months pass, questions remain. How will the world react to the presence of a second human? How will Equestria recover from the invasion of Canterlot by the changelings? Will Jason Wright find out about this second human?

I would like to go back to Endings and Beginnings at some point and change things, starting with a certain arc, but I wanted to do a parallel story with some elements changed.

Some chapters may seem very similar to the original but I may or may not have changed things around or added something to it.

Everypony knows Derpy as the clumsy, but kind and good natured mare who works in the post office. But most ponies don't know about who she used to be: the fastest filly around. And they don't know who she might've been had things been different.

I don't know if this has been done before, but I thought I'd try.

At his young age, with a thirst for adventure and a mountain of adult problems, fatherhood is the last thing on his mind. However, when he finds an infant Daring Do while on a quest for one of his first gilded treasures, the role is forced upon him.

Now, Indy must juggle his dangerous career with the burdens of parenthood in the Roaring Twenties. Meanwhile, his daughter grows up as a pony in a human world, in an extremely turbulent time, in a very unique family. As she absorbs much of her father's penchant for adventure, she must learn quickly the ropes of the fast paced world of action archaeology, lest she be left in the dust.

For if adventure has a name, it must have the last name: Jones!

This story has been a labor of love for me, in planning and production since 2023. It is a culmination of my dual loves for classic action-adventure and My Little Pony. Much of the story is already pre-written, with over a hundred thousand words already drafted.
