Warning: This story and this description both contain spoilers for the Web Novel: Worm. If you don't want to be spoiled, read Worm first, then come back and read this. Also, this is an alternate timeline of my story Queen Weaver, diverging from it at Chapter 29. Read that before reading this, otherwise you'll be missing a lot of context.

The apocalypse had come at the hand of a god-like multidimensional alien entity. Taylor Hebert, a parahuman with power over bugs and bug-like things has her powers altered by a former enemy and subsequently uses morally questionable means to make everyone in existence with superpowers fight this evil deity, eventually defeating him.

This however came with a cost. Her mind was deteriorating as her power was subsuming her. Thus another cape decided it would be a mercy to put a pair of bullets in the back of her skull.

The Spirit of Harmony witnessed all of this. Grateful for Taylor's role in stopping this alien god and thus saving countless worlds and thus countless lives, the Spirit of Harmony decides to intervene. It brings Taylor to Equestria turning her into a Changeling Queen in the process.

After a long series of events over the course of just over a month, some of the Undersiders are pulled from Earth Bet to Equestria by the Spirit of Love, as one of Taylor's newborn children is undergoing the Crystalling Ceremony in the Crystal Empire.

(This is a crossover with the web novel called Worm by the author Wildbow. I highly recommend reading it if you haven't, it's a really good story!)

Rainbow Dash is the best flier in Equestria. It's not a boast, nowadays the comment is made in ironic humor, due to both: how boastful she used to be and the fact that she was right.

She's powerful. Conventionally speaking, via raw thaums, Rainbow Dash is more powerful than Twilight. Call it a gap, Rainbow won't be breaking any ground on new pegasus spells, but pulling Sonic Rainbooms at will isn't something the average pony simply considers doing.

Rainbow trains, but she doesn't push herself. She fights, but she never really tries to hurt anyone. She goes on adventures with her friends, but they're always so... slow...

She got into the Wonderbolts, dream come true... but then...

She had a lot to learn about formation flying, that was the real challenge, but she'd had to be careful not to outfly them.

Then the Storm King invaded. Their home was genuinely in danger, and over and over and over; Rainbow had to take the backseat. She had to let everypony else fight or run. She had to stick with her friends.

She didn't push herself.

She'd never considered how far she could go.

Never tried to find her actual limit.

Knowledge of the previous story is not necessary to enjoy this one. This story takes place in an AU where Cadance and Shining Armor never got together. The world is otherwise unchanged.

Hearts and Hooves Day, while still Cadance's favorite holiday, has gotten more and more busy as the years have gone by. Her responsibilities have increased tenfold, and so too has her stress. Now, as if matters couldn't get any worse, she and her husband Anon are getting called by the Cutie Map!

Meanwhile, Anon just wants to spend some time with his wife.

Today, Anon's beaten and bruised body has been discovered in the upper levels of the Crystal Castle. His wife, Princess Cadance, would surely be devastated to find him in such a state with no explanation. Fearing for the health of the Crystal Heart, Twilight and Spike realize they only have one option: Discover the truth before Cadance gets home!

The "Princess of Love" has many duties. Ruling over the Crystal Empire is, of course, her top priority, but she also oversees all matters relating to love.

...Well, that's a bit of a lie. While she is gifted in love magic, she rarely uses it. Love isn't something to be played with, after all. Still, that won't stop her from enjoying her super-secret hobby that absolutely no one is allowed to know about.

Except Anon. She likes him.

Day #7 of Hearts and Hands Week.

On the Eve of the Summer Sun Celebration, the forsaken Princess, Nightmare Moon returns to claim her vengeance upon the ones who had shunned her and her night. As Nightmare appears and lashes out at Twilight, a rushed defense spelled causes an unknown being to crash onto the scene right after Nightmare, saving the lavender unicorn in the process. With a cocky grin and devil don’t care attitude, the unknown blue creature smirks and challenges the Nightmare without a second thought.

Celestia's School For Gifted Unicorns is without question the most prestigious in all of Equestria. Every unicorn dreams of attending, and Little Chart is no exception. But for him, earning a scholarship means so much more than just an education. It's food, board, and being able to lighten the load for his family back home!

When things don't go to plan, Little Chart finds his second chance lies with an unexpected stranger. The path ahead will be difficult and its end is uncertain, but for his sake and that of his family, he's willing to walk it.

Lots of families have pets. It’s fair to say the majority will, at some point in their lives, share their home with an animal friend of some description. They’ll be, for the most part, loved and appreciated and considered part of the family.

But… well, pets are rarely as long-lived as their owners. It’s a sad reality. And on the day when a pet’s journey can no longer go on, the parents might tell a little white lie, rather than break their child’s heart. “Oh, honey, no. Sparky has just… moved. He’s gone to stay at a lovely farm by the coast, that’s all. He’ll live there now, and chase bunnies and get big tasty bones to chew every day. That’s where Sparky is.”

In fact, so many parents have used that lie, one must imagine that this farm on the coast has one heck of a menagerie living there. Except of course, this is Equestria. You don’t have to imagine this farm at all.

Fluttershy, after years of searching, has finally located it.
