Hope is the faith of the young. Losing everything she holds dear, Puppysmiles embarks on the adventure of her life to find her mother, her hopes of meeting her again driving her through the horrors of a world not of her making. Too bad the Wastelands doesn't care about hope.

"Is anypony out there? Please, my name is Trixie! I need help! I think... I saw a cockatrice. I can't move, I can't see. Please, somepony, anypony.... Help me."

Laid low by circumstances beyond control, trapped in a cruel and unrelenting prison of flesh made stone, can anypony hold out hope to see the day once more? When their life rests in the hooves of one whom they tried to humiliate and belittle, can they trust in them and make it right? The Cutie Mark Crusaders are now in high school, and while they've already found their special talents, they are still being tormented by Diamond Tiara, as well as Silver Spoon. After Sweetie Belle notices Silver Spoon's behaviour when Diamond Tiara isn't around, the white mare wants to befriend the bully, much to the disapproval of her friends.

Silver Spoon, on the other hand, solely believes that nopony would befriend another pony without an ulterior motive, making it hard for Sweetie Belle's plans to work.

After a falling out with Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon is befriended by Sweetie Belle. However as time goes by, the silver-maned filly quickly learns that she has slightly-more-than-platonic feelings for her new friend, and that some ponies aren't above petty revenge. Can Silver Spoon's new found feelings survive public humiliation, petty grudges, and potential rejection?
