Discord never did strike Applejack as somebody she could trust. Heck, when he was evil, she at least had an idea of what to do about it. Now, he seems more or less a nuisance than anything else.

AJ takes pride in her work. No pony can question that. But Discord believes that's just because she's never had the power to do anything differently. So he makes an offer. He'll loan a copy of his powers at no charge. How long will she be able to resist the easy road when it also seems right?

Trapped inside by a freak snowstorm, Applejack discovers a link to her parents hidden at the bottom of a buried chest. Driven by the desire to connect with her mom, her life becomes dominated by the urge to keep digging. Will Rainbow Dash be able to snap her out of it before she digs herself in too deep?

Applejack and Rainbow are summoned by the Cutie Map to solve another friendship problem. But to their surprise, the problem lies on the other side of the portal to the human world.

Now, finding themselves as funny looking, two-legged, small-nosed, mostly hairless monkey people, the two are faced with some important questions:

Can they survive life in this brave new world? Will they discover what the friendship problem is? How long will they be stuck here? And just why do their human counterparts seem to not be getting along?

Applejack is not quite ready for her latest friendship mission.

She has to get sucked through an interdimensional vacuum cleaner, have her entire body re-shaped, and get dumped in an alien world she's only heard about secondhoof from Twilight.

It certainly doesn't help that she has no idea what her mission will be. And since the map only summoned AJ, she has to go alone.

Not that she's scared or anything!

Written in one half hour for a Quills and Sofas PANIC! Authors were given a very specific prompt that fit a very specific genre, then required to NOT write in that genre. This came out of that mess.

For Applejack, the Bearers' most recent adventure had consequences. She was the first in her family to break the Secret. She volunteered to become Twilight's teacher for earth pony magic. And with the chains of tradition still falling away, she did something else. She asked Snowflake to go out with her. To see if they were compatible. If it was possible for love to appear. Whether they could take the first steps together on a new road.

But Apples go out with earth ponies. The line marries pure.

And it won't be long before the rest of the family starts to find out...
