It never meant to happen; it never should have happened. It was obvious that no one knew, nor was ever supposed to know. But becoming a princess gives you some insight, and the reason for my transformation soon became very clear. Princess Luna was dead, and I was to going to give her life.

It has been more than one hundred years since Celestia banished Nightmare Moon. While Equestria has enjoyed a century of relative peace and prosperity, there are still lingering tensions between the three pony tribes.

Shadow Kicker, a proud warrior of Pegasopolis, must navigate the treacherous noble court of Canterlot and address the concerns and wounded pride of her own tribe in a desperate effort to prevent matters from coming to open warfare.

Well, this is basically in response to the veritable chaos that happened on /mlp/ a while ago when the Twilicorn pictures broke.

Having a home on the Dark Equestria threads, this story is going to deal with the difficulties Twilight has to deal with when she is transformed into an alicorn. Are the upsides really worth the tribulations that lie ahead?

Princess Twilight Sparkle is living every little foals dream, something even she used to only dream of. Becoming a princess was wonderful, and feeling the love of those close to her made her feel ever so special inside. But as she begins to realize that she will need to start living a life without her friends, the very ponies who made her dream come true, she starts to fall into a sort of depression. The very thing a certain somepony has been waiting for.

After an accident reveals that Sweetie Belle is a robot, she is abducted by the government and forced to defend her right to exist. She endures trial after trial in hopes to earn her freedom.

During this ordeal, she discovers dark secrets about her past.

Luna and Celestia, two royal sisters, always having the closest bond two ponies could have. However, as fate would have it, their relationship only draws them closer and closer together. Of course, two mares being together would be risky. But being a Princess requires risk! Is this one they're willing to take though? And if they do, what will others think about them? Will they accept it? Fear it? Hate it?...Or something more catastrophic?

When Celestia banished her sister to the Moon with the power of Harmony, she swore that she would never allow anything so terrible to happen to Equestria ever again.

Harmony, unfortunately, saw fit to grant her wish.

Sometimes we desperately want something to be true, so we refuse to believe it's a lie. Sometimes we tell ourselves everything is alright, even when it isn't. Sometimes a lot of people get very badly hurt because we aren't willing to face painful possibilities. Sometimes things really are that bad.

Luna regresses, and Celestia must confront her worst fear. But something seems...off.

A short story originally conceived as the prologue to a series. The series has been put on hold, but I believe the story stands on its own fairly well.
