Not every changeling was in the Hive when the change happened. For those in distant posts, the days that followed were full of rumors, fear and panic.

In a city far from hive and home, a cell of changelings gather to understand what has happened and decide how to handle the seemingly mad new world they've been thrust into.

One summer evening, Wallflower Blush finds herself lost in the dark corners of her mind. Then a friend comes to her aid and fixes everything.

Twilight Sparkle flees Equestria, and says she might never come back.

Celestia wants to find out why.

After taking the throne, Twilight had a lot of things to do - a transition that had never happened before was bound to be fraught with a thousand unexpected complications.

As part of the transition, Twilight finds herself going through Princess Celestia's old personal papers, finding secret after clue after instruction long forgotten about. And among those papers, Twilight finds a letter.

A letter addressed to My Faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle.

A letter never sent.

For little Wallflower Blush, life had always been quiet here in Canterlot, and everything was where it should be. Her family's flower shop was running just fine, school was just enough of a manageable hassle, and though she found it a lonely life, it was a life she was fine with.

Then one day, who else should she find loitering about in the flower shop, with a whole baggage of issues to sort out, if not the Princess' own personal student? And when she starts talking to her, and no other, perhaps it won't be so lonely after all.
