This story was written for the 2023 'Iron Author' competition at Everfree Northwest, given the prompts 'vexing volcanism', 'verdant vegetable', and 'vibrant vestigial'. Though I didn't win, I was placed in the top ten out of some forty participants.

Ancient Greece: A land of gods, heroes, monsters... and very few roles for women beyond wife and housekeeper.

In other words, it's a pretty terrible place and time for a renegade student of Princess Celestia to find herself. But Sunset Shimmer is nothing if not determined and resourceful. She will bend this world to her will.

That's the plan, anyway. Given how the heliocentric model is still a few millennia away from wide acceptance, maybe she can settle for finding happiness.

Eight years have passed since Wallflower Blush was rescued from a life on the streets by Sunset Shimmer. Learning to cope with the traumas that put her there—along with navigating a new relationship—wasn't easy. The life Wallflower lives now isn't perfect, but she's proud of how far she's come. With a loving relationship, a fulfilling job, and good friends, Wallflower is content to enjoy the stability offered by clinging endlessly and desperately to the present.

Then, she finds something Sunset has been keeping secret from her, and everything changes.

Now Wallflower is determined to stop Sunset from making the biggest mistake of her life—asking Wallflower to marry her.

How can things go oh, so wrong?

In an attempt to satiate Sunset's curiosity of the hit Disney-Pixar film Up, Wallflower promises to give Sunset a copy of the beloved movie so they could watch it together.

There's just one, small, problem...

Now, in a race against time, Wallflower desperately tries to find a copy of the animated film to fulfill her promise to Sunset and make her happy. Now if only she had the luck to actually find one...

Will Wallflower be able to give Sunset Up? Or will she have to let her down?

One in the morning is a time when you visit the people you need the most. Sunset Shimmer is that to Wallflower Blush, as Wallflower is to Sunset.

Wallflower is attending a high-class garden party. It's been fun, but she has to leave soon and go back to her life in Canterlot.

She would rather not since that means dealing with somepony she would rather avoid.

Thankfully, she appears to be trapped in a time loop.
