Twilight Sparkle believes that she understands the world around her.
But what if one of the most common, everyday things, was actually completely beyond her comprehension?

A short, experimental piece based on working with a very limited word count. Written in first person, in a sort of journal-like style.

It's the day after Starlight Glimmer's reformation and she hasn't come out of her room this morning. This has Twilight worried. Is her student just sleeping in after a day of excitement, or is it something more serious?

Sunset decides to dress up as a demon for a Nightmare Night party. Her fellow students don't handle it all that well and now Sunset has to deal with her unwanted reign.

Twilight has a bit of a problem. You see, she always does Princess Celestia's bidding, regardless of how ridiculous the task or insane the request. Now, it'd be just a shame if someone were to abuse this knowledge to their own malicious ends. The only question is, how far will they go?

Fluttershy is no stranger to making friends with animals, and is no stranger to some of those animals being weird and unique in their own way. But she's never encountered an animal like this before.

The pegasus finds what appears to be a stray black cat one day and takes him in out of the kindness of her own heart. But this black cat can talk and has his own name: Salem Saberhagen.

When the initial shock of a talking cat wears off, Fluttershy becomes interested in Salem as she seeks to understand what makes the black cat who he is. As for Salem, he mostly cares about having something to do while all by himself in an unfamiliar world.

The Everfree forest is just like any other forest—except it's full of monsters and weird magic junk, but ignoring that—it sometimes grows out of control and needs to be trimmed a bit. In order to keep the forest from growing too large, Celestia asks Twilight to start a controlled forest fire to burn a portion of it down. It seems like a simple request, but a series of mishaps and misunderstandings lead to some miscommunication and, subsequently, to Twilight setting fire to all of Equestria.

The Mane 6 are over at Twilight's for a late-night get together, just hanging out. It's late, Spike's asleep. While the Mane 6 are enjoying their time Spike begins to sleepwalk, muttering about his lousy bed. So, he pats around for a good bed and instead finds ponies, and thus the contest for who's the best bed begins.

Desperate not to lose her newfound freedom, Cozy Glow finds herself on the run as everypony in Equestria tries to find her. Wanting something to confide in, she starts keeping a diary, and in it she records her adventures trying to survive in a world where nopony wants to be her friend. But nopony can guess what her destiny has in store for her.
