Chrysalis kidnaps Rainbow Dash and holds her for ransom.

This same Rainbow Dash also happens to be engaged to the immensely powerful Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle.

Chrysalis is not a very smart changeling.

Rainbow Dash finally gets her chance to try out for the Wonderbolts. She fears failure, and is confident of success, but there is more to Princess Celestia's test than meets the eye.

Rainbow Dash has no experience in dealing with doctrines nor demons. In fact, she doesn't have any knowledge of their existence. When she is thrust head first into a steadily building catastrophe, she will have to put her life on hold in an attempt to do her civic duty.

Discord, however, has a history with these creatures, being almost as ancient as them, but after three and a half thousand years encased in stone, he is feeling a little stiff. He also doesn't want to be stiffed, knowing that one of the ponies who incarcerated him in the first place will not release him lightly; not without an ace in her mane. Especially not Luna, she disliked him especially.

Luna knows a great deal of the past: Centuries of research and innumerous amounts of time spent delving into magics that no unicorn could hope to perform has allowed her that luxury.

The princess realises that those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat it. She also wonders which of her companions will be the most difficult to control. The only thing she knows for certain is that her sister cannot catch wind of the situation arising, nor of her plans to suppress it.

If Celestia found out, Equestria would never survive.

"It has been theorised that this great land once had another ruler, one that shaped and molded it into the place we now know. One far older than our fair princesses and those who came before them, one that breathed our ancestors to life. Of course, no amount of theological discussion can lead to any concrete evidence, and the teleological debates regarding the extrinsic value of our own land and technology is inconclusive also. Epistomologically, we must assume that there is no greater power than the entities which we are aware of, until it is shown otherwise."

Rainbow dash has been sent to Tartarus for a crime she says she didn't commit and princess Celestia will only release her if she confesses well she has a better idea which includes three things
1) ESCAPE
2) go on the run
3) prove her innocence
will she escape or will she rot in Tartarus find out in this story

Rainbow Dash has a recurring dream where she is given an award. This would be fine, if not for the fact that it becomes all she can think about.

With this dream driving her nuts, Rainbow decides to embark on a path to end the recurring dream once and for all.

With this work, I've tried different approaches of exposition and narration. Namely: alternating between third and first person, a section where only dialogue is present, and tailored paragraphs.

They said that he was gone. They said it was safe. They were wrong. Now, many ponies are taking prisoner by an evil captor, with a power stronger then ever seen. His plans for one of the captured ponies, Rainbow Dash, are evil. With his evil, torturing mind, he has found a way to create a commandable shell of a former pony, and his recent tests have come out with more power, the ability to make a super weapon, but it requires a certain pony. Rainbow Dash.
(Not extremely gorey, but I felt the tag was needed for this story.)

Celestia, Luna, Twilight, and her friends bask in the mid afternoon sun after having a much enjoyable picnic. Rainbow Dash, who has grown bored of lounging around, decides that she wants to challenge Celestia to a race, proving who is the fastest in Equestria. Could it be the Supersonic Pegasus, or the Alicorn Goddess?

What would you do if you woke up one day to find an Alicorn Princess Goddess passed out drunk on your doorstep, unable to be awoken? Rainbow Dash certainly has her hooves full with this one. How is she going to handle this??
