The stress of consecutive days of constant working has tired the usually flamboyant mare. Luckily, Twilight is more than willing to comfort her marefriend, and she asks if there is anything she can do to steady Pinkie's pain. In response, Pinkie gives the alicorn an unusual request that Twilight is unsure she has the skills to complete this wish.

Pinkie Pie isn't the best with words, and she's not sure if what she's feeling is worth mentioning. After all, Twilight is a princess now and has a lot on her plate. It's understandable that she's been growing distant, really, but Pinkie's heart has been doing loops for months.

She has to know: Is it over between them?

Twilight and Pinkie have been together for a little under a year, and they're celebrating their first Hearth's Warming as a couple by spending it with the rest of their friends. Twilight is determined to show Pinkie how much she cares for her with her present, and hopes that Pinkie will do the same.

The Canterlot Castle can be a stressful, boring, and serious place. After already spending what seemed like ages at the dull place to discuss political affairs with the other princesses and make public appearances for the eager Canterlot citizens, Twilight is not looking forward to spending another week there.
