Twilight is on the cusp of leading Equestria for a year. It's been an easy year with no major difficulties. No wars. No natural disasters. No villains.

At least until a villain from the far, far future appears in Twilight's throne room. She's escaping defeat at Twilight's hooves, with one thought in mind: she won't be stopped if Twilight doesn't exist in the future. And here's Twilight's past self, right in front of her. Easy.

Unfortunately, she's not the only villain with this idea.

Now that March has arrived, the whole of Ponyville prepares for the coming Winter Wrap-Up and the supplies needed for it. But, then things take a rather odd turn when Pinkie runs through the streets just days before spring with a rather ominous message:

"Beware the pies of March."

"...we could be stuck doing this for all eternity!" Twilight said.
"That's fine with me!" Starlight responded.
Starlight never thought that Twilight was actually being serious.

What would have happened if Starlight hadn't turned herself over to Twilight? If she rejected friendship, even after being given a chance to come back?

Starlight Glimmer is strong. She always has been. She always will be.
But Twilight wants that to change.

This story is a sequel to Doctor Whooves: Invasion of Manehattan

Starlight Glimmer has succeeded, she has managed to steal one of the Star Swirl spells from the forbidden section of the Canterlot library and, after months of work studying countless tomes of arcane magic related to time, she will be able to defeat that princess of friendship and her friends before even meeting her.

All she has to do is stop the brat that was Rainbow Dash from doing the Sonic Rainboom on her. But before she does, somepony stops her and asks her a simple question, 'are you sure you want to do that?'

Lyra, Bon Bon, and myself are having fun at a park, working on a short film, when we get incessantly buzzed around by a wasp that just won't go away. Not seeing any other way out of it, we try to shoo away the insect, and despite taking "precautions", as we tried to call them, the insect prevails and uses its well-known tactic on one of us. Ah, instincts.

(Story told from my perspective)

I wrote this story because the depiction of me in it contains realistic problems with me. Seeing one of my loved ones get stung is something that I could easily get nightmares about; even the thought of it bothers me. And I do harbor animosity towards these insects for using that power. I know, self-defense and all, but it's upsetting, isn't it? Yes. We don't want to see people get hurt, especially not when they're close to us, and it's only natural we'd be mad at the perpetrator.

I also wanted to write this because it's something that can easily happen to you in real life despite clear guidelines on how to avoid it. We've all heard "don't swat at wasps, that provokes them.", and that's true. But let's be honest, most of us probably have swatted at stinging insects, because that's we do automatically. It's instinct. Or, as happens in this story, the insect just keeps hanging around you and you don't feel like you can wait anymore. So it's here for that too.

Note: This is my first attempt at fan fiction, so please be honest with how bad my writing and grammar are, since I've never done this before.

Nopony knows where it came from, or what it is. It exudes wrongness to anypony who looks at it. This sphere of stone appeared out of nowhere, and overturns so much of what the ponies believed to be true their whole lives.

When Applejack asks Twilight to help investigate apples that have gone missing from Sweet Apple Acres, she uncovers an emaciated filly who then runs into Everfree. Giving chase, the Mane Six corner her, only to be dragged into a fight for their lives against the horrors from a certain village...

Meanwhile, in Canterlot, a very familiar statue begins to crack...

Replaces "Keep Calm and Flutter On". Not that I had any real problems with the episode...

...And now, several years later, I realize I made a bit of a plot hole. Since I make the same offer on my FanFiction.net account from time to time...a cyber No-Prize to whoever spots it and points it out first.

Star Swirled was supposed to be a fun music festival and a chance to see some awesome bands over the course of two days.

That was several months ago, and thanks to a time loop Sunset Shimmer is still on Day 1.

After all the confusion, after the rage, after the desperation - she's emotionally tapped out.

Fortunately, she's not alone.

Written (but not completed) for the No Author Left Unnoticed competition, with the prompt "Sleep doesn't help if it's your soul that's tired." Finished anyway later on because I can't bear to leave work half-completed.
