Spike sets off on a solo camping trip as a vacation given to him by Twilight Sparkle for being such a hard worker, when he sees an unexpected face.

Maud Pie, Pinkie’s more serious and stony-faced (pun intended) sister, shows up at his house bearing gifts for him for the trip.

Spike knows Maud well enough that she’s trying to be nice, but why? Why is she? She hardly even knows him.

Or does she...?

After chasing after Rarity for so long without his affection being returned, Spike gives up. But when new feelings surface for a certain librarian, it's up to Spike to discover just what those feelings are and how to deal with them. But to do so, he may have to have some help from his friends. That's what friends are for...right? If the heart of this dragon is to be spared, then he'll certainly require their assistance! (This version is a rewritten version of the first story I wrote. You could say that it's...new and improved! Using the writing experience I've gained over the years, I added many extra scenes to it compared to the original. It might not be the sequel that readers of the original were hoping for, but I hope that all readers new and old, will enjoy it!)

On one sunny day, Granny Smith is bored out of her mind hoping for something exciting to happen and then she got we wish when Spike and Gabby are playing a pirate board game to find a hidden treasure chest. She seems to like it when she start playing it, perhaps too much and even got Spike and Gabby to go treasure hunting with her for real without even question if the search is real or not.

In the distant future, Princess Twilight Sparkle and Spike enjoy Hearth's Warming with an old friend.

Twilight is making Spike start school, against the dragon's wishes, and sends him off with the Cutie Mark Crusaders. But noticing that Spike is down, Applebloom wants to cheer him up. Thus begins a number events that throw the young dragon and fillies into a journey of friendship, jealousy, love, adolescence, and self-discovery.

After this realization among some other findings, Spike grows upset as he concludes that he and Fluttershy were never really friends to begin with - causing a noticeable rift between the two. Can things ever be mended between the dragon and the pony? And how does Fluttershy feel about this?
