My deepest, darkest fear is that I'll forget who I was, that I'll stay like this forever. At first, it was just an act. But now, it feels like a normality, a reflex almost. I don't know what to do... I wasn't always like this, or at least I don't think so. I just wanted to learn... I wanted to be the best I could possibly be.

This story is a sequel to Anon-a-Miss

So much has happened, and most people are still focused on the debacle. They aren't asking "What now?" or "What next?" but it's not mistakes, tragedies, and trauma that define people, it's what comes after them.

Before winter break, three little sisters framed Sunset Shimmer for spreading everyone's secrets across the internet under the name Anon-a-Miss. Sunset didn't figure out who was behind the account in time. The sirens were incorrectly suspected. Rainbow Dash felt a betrayer went unpunished. Gilda served up misdirected vengeance and called it justice.

When Sunset was left to die, two people she thought wanted nothing to do with her, Snips and Snails, were the ones to help her. Then the truth came out, punishment was doled out, and injuries slowly healed.

That's all come and gone.

Winter break will soon be over and the only certainty is that whatever comes next will be nothing like it would have been if the Anon-a-Miss incident hadn't taken place.

At the end of Dainn's version of the Anon-a-Miss story, adapted from the execrable Equestria Girls Holiday Special, Dainn gave permission anyone who wanted to do "spin-offs, alternate endings, or whatever" provided credit was given.

This takes as canon Dainn's story all the way through the last chapter proper but not the epilogue. I wanted to include the epilogue but a detail I'd forgotten means that it doesn't fit my timeline, so I'm going to have to rewrite it to fit with my story. It'll flow better this way anyway.

It should be possible to read this on its own, but you're a Hell of a lot less likely to feel like you've jumped in the deep end before learning how to swim if you go and read all 13 regular chapters of Dainn's story, and if you're doing that you might as well read Dainn's epilogue chapter as well even though it's not canon for this. So, you know, go and read that story.

This is an aftermath fic based on Dainn's "Anon-A-Miss" story. Please, check it out. It has a lot of drama in it.

Rainbow Dash is all alone. She hasn't spoken to her friends in weeks and has quit all her sports team. After having a fit in the bathroom, she wakes up in the Nurse Redheart's office. She is told Sunset helped her.

So, after finding Sunset, they have a little talk about guilt and self-loathing

It’s the Christmas season, and all are at home with their families...except one. Labeling her as a scapegoat during the Anon-a-miss incident, a number of students have abducted Sunset, intending to make her pay for all the secrets she spilled....Again.
There's just one problem....She didn't.

You guys know Dainn's "Anon-A-miss" Story. But if you don't, leave now, and go read his story. This story is a direct branchoff from his, continuing immediately after chapter 5 of his story. You NEED to read his story up until chapter 5, to understand what's going on in this one.
This will be a darker telling of what goes on after chapter 5 of his story.

Twilight and Spike discuss about something that happened between them a long time ago. Something that Twilight isn't proud of. Then Twilight tells Spike a story about a Minotaur and a sculptor.

While Starlight and Celestia don't appear directly in the chapter they are directly referenced, hence the tags. The second half of the story is mainly Twilight narrating a story to Spike regarding two original characters, hence the tag there. Otherwise the story is just Spike and Twilight talking.

This was written as a very last minute and very hopefully not too edgy submission for the wonderful and illustrious Kin-a-Vulf's it's Cynewulf I'm just being silly and posting the pronunciation and I really hope that they aren't mad at me for making the joke Worldbuilding Fic CONTEST.

Also, as of January 10th I've taken the time to do a fully revision of the story, it's in a much better state than when it was initially posted. It's not perfect, but it's certainly passable, if you read it I hope you enjoy, but feel free to let me know if you don't either in the comments or via direct message. It's no secret that Spike has a crush on Rarity - and it's no secret that it's going nowhere. How could a fabulous seamstress love a tiny dragon?

But Spike has a plan. A cunning plan.

By feeding Twilight all of his material, he can profess his love for Rarity through another - another that she might find more acceptable. And perhaps win her heart that way.

Or at least, that's what he tells Twilight he's doing.

When the festival celebrating Nightmare Night arrives at Ponyville everypony thought it would be the usual funscary time of the year they had come to love. After saving Camp Everfree, Sunset Shimmer just wants to kick and celebrate like any typical teenaged girl. Or at least as typical as one can be when you now possess magic powers that let you see into the hearts and minds of others.

But memories are a fickle thing, and when Sunset Shimmer runs into her ex-boyfriend, she soon discovers that even a memory can be deceptive.

Sunset Shimmer has been cut with the deepest wound of all: regret. She's retreated from everyone around her and even though Twilight's friends are trying to reach out to her, it doesn't seem like the former unicorn wants to be helped. Or is there something more? What could possibly drive a strong, confident lady like Sunset Shimmer to fear even her own shadow? And, is she still the same selfish girl she one was, or are her efforts to distance herself an attempt to save everyone else in the school from a horrible fate?
Set during and after the Rainbow Rocks shorts, this story tries to be as canonical as possible while giving Sunset Shimmer more depth as a person and leading up to EG2.
