This is not a story about closure or healing. A traumatized soldier is NOT taken to Equestria to heal his war-torn soul. This is a story about an unfortunate series of events that get a whole lot of ponies and people killed.

Well, as for total accuracy regarding procedure and military standards, I can't exactly speak for that.
However, all things considered, it seems to be going in decent order. As for a group, perhaps you can consider this. I don't know if it's what you're looking for but it's worth a shot.
A flash bomb? Clever but i don't see how a lot of ponies and humans are going to die because a couple humans got spotted snooping around the forest's edge. Even though they are an unknown creature, why would they be SO irrational? I guess i have to continue reading to find out.

Though I'm genuinely surprised the Delta Force operatives would risk discovery by saving the CMC. But, even special forces operatives are Human.
And the names that the team gave the ponies are hilarious! Candy Ass, Gay Pride, John Belushi!
The "names" of the operatives is are pretty nice too. Memorable but not overly cool (just like real military callsigns).

And thanks, one of my pet peeves is reading a story with soldiers in it and everyone has names like 'Rex' and 'Ghost' and 'Snake'. Going to the trouble of writing a story and using the least imaginitive names possible for characters.
1989277, I should clarify, the military protocol was pretty darn realistic.
I couldn't find any inaccuracies off the top of my head. And I don't have the time to browse through it and my 13th edition copy of the Combat Leader's Field Guide, the official US Army Ranger handbook (SH 21-76) and my collection of army field manuals to fact check.
1989306 I wasn't offended, for the record. I do put serious effort into making military dialogue as realistic as I can, but I lack official field guides and have to pull what I can from soldier's biographies and autobios, and so I'm always looking for tips on how to improve it

Cool so far but i have a request, PLEASE Don't make this a "HOOMANS R EVUL" Fic or wank Equestria into a Mary Sue Paradise and have the Ponies somehow able to defeat A Much more advanced group that are trained to fight.

Considering the flavor text for this story, there is only one way this plan can end and it is with a lot of dead Guardsponies.

Hmm.
When is this set? The Army hasn't issued BDUs since around 2003. The current Army issue uniform is the ACU, though I suppose in a SpecOps unit it's at least plausible that they could have some latitude in equipment choice that the Big Army doesn't generally grant.
Having read the deleted chapters, I wish you luck with the rewrite, but I don't see how differently it can actually go while living up to the story summary. I can, however, imagine other equally interesting paths taken, such as diplomatic shouting matches following contact made in the wake of two dead pony guards who were holding Americans captive. But then, you're the author and I look forward to seeing your story.
[edit: You know, I was able to come up with one way I can see the story summary sorta being fulfilled without resorting to full-on war with all its casualties. Of course, I have absolutely no idea how closely the following matches your current plans. If everything up to the plane explosion happened as in the deleted story, and Twilight instead had done it from Ponyville (either subsequently convalescing there or not), and the humans knew that was the origin of whatever happened, then they could easily conquer the town with the intention of investigating what was done. The increased Guard presence would be killed off, possibly along with some civilians that either panic or try to fight. A standoff ensues between the humans who are keen to find out what hit them (and won't let anyone leave) and the Royal Guard who won't mount an assault because they see them as holding the town hostage (which is actually pretty close to the truth).]
