I think I can mange to get the ball rolling sometime before the season opener. Some of those other things you mentioned will happen, others will not. Also, don't count on a wedding chapter. After seeing every cliche under the sun that can happen at weddings, I honestly don't think I can bring anything new to the experience. I'll leave it to Hollywood to rehash old, tired tropes like that one. It's one of the reasons I went with the herd idea rather than having Twilight just hook up with Cheerilee. Giving up the glamorous and famous ponies to stick with the cute girl next door? Pass.

Ava's group was going to blackmail Equestria into making reparations to the griffon and minotaur nations. Loosely translated, they wanted to bleed the ponies dry because they (the ponies) have things so much better than they do. It's one of those nasty political things that people who feel they have no recourse left often do. Also, they were big, fat jerks. As for the other Elements, there's already Rarijack and Rainbow-Pie, so they're pretty well set. Fluttershy... how do I put this... She... it's difficult to write romance for someone so innocent without making the focus of the story about them. But have no fear, she'll be well taken care of.

You switched to present tense in these two paragraphs for no particular reason I can discern. If that wasn't intentional, you might want to fix that.

So "Book 2," is wrapping up in the next chapter and soon we'll start "Book 3." (If I understood your blog correctly). Have you decided if you're just going to make this a dedicated AU timeline or are you going to try and incorporate the season 3 finale into it? If ponies raised their eyebrows at a small town librarian reviving the practice of forming herds I can't wait to see the apoplexy caused by the "Princess of Harmony's" personal harem among the nobility. What would their titles be? "Princess Consorts," is probably close enough without annoying any European readers who actually know about feudal titles.

Just speculating on Cheerilee's baby, I could see it being an alicorn since it's using a part of Celestia's soul. Though when I saw the part about "being surprised at how robust it would be" I latched onto that. The baby could be born an earth pony instead of going alicorn because that's what it was originally going to be and the magic from Celestia amplified as well as healed the baby. Fully grown it could give Big Mac a run for his money in strength and such.

Glad Celestia made a significant showing in this chapter. The anticlimax before was rather disappointing but I enjoyed how fitting symbolically it was for Celestia to aid Twilight in a moment of more emotional need than the action scenes before. It's a little more in line with the core focus of the fic, Twilight's relationships and connections. Celestia sharing a part of her soul with the baby was very intriguing, I must say.

Your Celestia intrigues and confuses me! I look forward to seeing more, especially regarding her grapple with her strange feelings for Twilight.

This was another interesting story! Well done! I really like the fact that Celly is *sorta* circumventing the not-able-to-have-kids rule. That was pretty cool. I wonder if she knows? Well.. yeah, she knows. Probably why she was so cheerful that morning. The way I read it, Celestia essentially gave a small portion of her own soul and so the child is now, from a spiritual point of view, as much Celestia's own as it's Twi's and Cheerilee's.

I did enjoy this story, I do wish you carried on the action scenes a touch more but that's just me.
