She looked back to Zecora when no answer was forthcoming, only to find that she had disappeared. With a wry smile, she said, “Huh. So that's what it's like to be on the receiving end.”
I see what you did there. That was one of the best parts in that movie. That and when you find out Joseph Gordon-Levitts charater was Robin (in a sense, other than his name) then he goes to the Batcave. Called that one.
Good chapter. Love the story and can't wait for more.
1838261 Mmmaaayyybe. 1846387 Thanks! And yeah, Rover's a little "toys in the attic" if you catch my meaning. 1859546 Hadn't occurred to me, no. But now that I think about it, it does sound interesting... 1875649 But subplot can't help its awesomeocity. 1910448 As Blue_Paladin42 said, it's like that. In my own canon, Mythril possesses a magic all its own. Unrefined, it fluctuates in intensity and type wildly. I hope the riddle is suitably vague. 1910532 Not sure if he would qualify as a supervillain in the comic book sense, but he definitely does as far as the ponies are concerned. 1910536 Heh. Hopefully, it won't require a Dark tag, but we'll just have to wait and see. 1910583 Cheerilee isn't thinking clearly right now. Having just found out she's pregnant yesterday, combined with Twilight announcing she's going into danger, and she's honestly forgotten all about it. Same could be said for the others. They still haven't gotten used to the idea yet. 1910673 Heh heh. I'm so happy when someone gets a reference I plant in there. 1910707 Thank you kindly.

1911177 In fairness, it's like, the day after conception. No one would have even considered her being pregnant for some time yet had not Celestia let the cat out of the bag early. We can be a little lenient.
Yay your back though I do seem late to the party here Anyways a good chapter from you again so just keep them coming...... when ever you feel like of course. Oh and pinkie says hi
Quite a lot of subplot to chew through. Some good jokes and cute scenes as expected
It did seem like you rushed a few parts, they just weren't up to your normal level of polish, and you need to work a bit on your meter & rhyme, but otherwise a quite enjoyable chapter... even if it didn't include any sexy times with the herd
1911097 Even the brightest students make a dim move now and then. 1911177
1912640 Thanks. And Hi, Pinkie! 1913998 Yeah, it was my weakest chapter yet, I feel. I thought I did well on Zecora's bits, but I wanted to try something a little unconventional with Nyx, going for an ABCBA structure and have all the C lines rhyme. The meter on them was way off, though. Guess I better stick to prose and not become a poet, eh? Then again... Your comment is well received, It was insightful and not aggrieved. I hope you're impressed, and will not protest, and read on without getting peeved. 1918125 I try where I can, but the simple fact is that until the show airs its last episode (God willing it's many, many years from now), there's only so much I can put in of the later seasons. I began at the end of season two, and those first two are the only ones I can totally mesh with. Anything that comes later is going to be hit or miss, but I will include what I can that doesn't mess up my fanon. And yeah, Zecora was harder to write for than Luna, but required less looking up on the internet. 1926725 I'm sorry you feel that way. Had you gone just one chapter further, you'd see just why there was so much clop. No, really. It's explained in chapter three and even solved. However, I'll understand if you don't want to continue it; sad, but understanding.

1939016 Wow. I've seen some of the stories you've commented on, and coming from you, that's high praise. I'll try to live up to it. And by all means, you may have as much as you like. I think you'll like the next chappie. We get a little more insight into Celestia, and some new mysteries for you all to ponder over with it. By the by, I've been meaning to ask, but have you seen the animated version of your avatar? i38.photobucket.com/albums/e132/whiterabbit75/1154676701019_zpse5213344.gif
1939098 That is in fact what I use on other sites. Well if you get technical, I'm using it on this site too, it's just that this site doesn't support animated avatars so you just get the first frame of the gif. Chances are, if you've seen that avatar, then you may have seen my other online identity, but don't tell anypony.
...WHOA. Staggering epicness right here. Something BIG is going down (and not Cheery's stomach!) and I LOVE it! Nyx getting taken out is just frightening, truth be told. I also really liked the riddle you came up with. Complicated rhyming patterns are NOT easy to work with. Good for you!
Love your characters. Dolomite, Nyx, Plain Sight...all very good. Can't wait to see how this all pans out.
It's not really a conscious thing on the part of a mare in a herd, because due to the male - female ratio, the stallions are a precious resource, hence the protectiveness of the mare towards their stallion. If the stallion gets injured, then procreation and population growth become much harder, whereas, if a mare gets injured, she can still be bred, and give birth, or if the event somehow ends with the death of the mare, the greater ratio of mares to stallions makes it easier to "replace" the deceased mare. Now we know, that Twilight is no stallion, but given the herd dynamics , the other mares have placed her in a standing equivalent of the stallion, hence the instinctual urge to protect the "stallion" or in this case Twilight, from harm. As far as conscious decisions, they're a newly formed herd, and the love she (Cheerilee) has towards Twilight, if it means that being there for Twilight increases Twilight's chance of survival, as terrible as it would be to lose Twilight's foal, as long as her reproductive organs aren't irreparably damaged, then she can still have another foal by Twilight. However, were Twilight to somehow die, then she'd never be able to have any foals (or additional foals) by Twilight. And, well, true love places the safety of one's spouse above their own. Love is weird and amazing like that.
Another howl got Plain Sight's attention, and she looked off into the distance. “You don't mind if we send some ponies in to investigate further, do you?” She looked back to Zecora when no answer was forthcoming, only to find that she had disappeared. With a wry smile, she said, “Huh. So that's what it's like to be on the receiving end.”
Other authors can choose to use mare-Do-Well, but I won't.
That's simultaneously one of the best- and worst -of season 2. Mostly because Rainbow Dash wasn't really doing anything wrong. And because they went right to the intervention without, you know, TALKING TO HER FIRST!!
huh, I was under the impression that Nyx, Onyx, Plain Sight and the other were all OCs. Meaning you owned the character in its entirety, yes even in pony form I own a few hundred of those myself, but were using them here. Kind of curious where Plain Sight comes from, was it one of those short novels they released with Bonbon and stuff? Nyx on the other hand must have come from some adjacent property as they do not have human faced spynx's in mlp (unless its older generations)
11851334 The disclaimer was worded weird, and confused many. The OCs are indeed mine. Nyx is one of my old D&D characters (and yes, she is insanely powerful; I'm talking gods go to her for advice and info, and treat her with respect), and Onyx is... well, you'll find out if you ever read my prequel, One of these Days (just don't read it until you finish the main trilogy, there are spoilers in it). Plain Sight, Dolemite, and all my pony OCs (minus one you'll meet later on) come from this series.
Commence read.
Unrefined Mythril? Trying to remember why this would happen...I know it but don't.
Zecora pulls the Batman vanish.
Black Diamond. What will you attempt first...?
Now a Riddle to ponder on from Nyx.
Okay, so now we have a super-villain? Awesome!
EDIT:
Yup, I still think I know what's going to happen.
Connor? Is that you?
Dark subplot is dark.
1910448
Mythril is often given either magical properties, or is at least very conductive to magic.
1910540 I thought so. Just drew a blank at the time. Thanks.
1910549
Hmmmm that riddle it only makes me wonder more of the behind-the-scenes story is going on?
But my other question is? Why is Cheerilee going into danger she is pregnant?
That is all for now
Till Next Time Peace.

I bet that Zecora took a while, it was pretty good!

Missed a quotation mark there. Otherwise.... So much love. Also, scary spooky.
1926967
At least that. Cute poem, by the way.
1935437
Thanks for catching that. Totally missed it. Also, I'm glad someone is liking the subplot.
1936964
This is what happens when you write one of the best romcoms on the site. People expect more of it.
I'm enjoying the subplot, but I will freely admit that it's the way you portray the herd's dynamics that keeps me coming back like a starving orphan boy.

Grey fur, Mare Do Well costume, and badass movement.......
