Author's notes:

I've decided to put the A/N down here instead of the story itself so as to spare anyone not interested in reading them. Anywho, I hope you all like this little tidbit. I had this in my head pretty much since chapter two of TSW, but I really decided to write it when someone said that the pairing came out of nowhere, and bore no relevance to the main story itself (I'm paraphrasing here). I apologize if this is shorter than you might like, but it's a little bit of backstory that I feel adds something to the original work, but not enough to include in it. Anyways, enjoy!

The romance was nice and the story was pretty good, but you completely skipped over the all-important scene where Rarity stopped to consider how Spike is going to be completely devastated by the realization that his feelings mean shit to her.

If either of you come across a story where they give a shit about that, please let me know.

I love that movie... dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Luna_lolface.png

I think you're all expecting a bit much from a one-shot ROMANCE story concerning Rarity and Applejack. If I were to turn this into a 20 chapter epic, then of course I'd address that. I would be surprised if I didn't, really, but this is just a short little fluffy bit of WAFF. Just relax and enjoy it for what it is.

Don't worry, I enjoyed it.

As the element of [LOYALTY] I can honestly say that was quite the direct approach. :ajsmug:
(And if you don't get the reference, you need to watch Friendship is Witchcraft, right now.)

Is it bad that I liked this little bit of prequel RariJack fluff better than I liked the last chapter of TSB? Either way, this is an enjoyable little one-shot ship. Thanks!

Thank you. I'm glad someone liked this. :twilightsheepish:

I only just saw the first one. I'll find the relevant one sooner or later. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Twilight_Sparkle_lolface.png

Not really. There were a considerable number of readers who seem to think I took the easy way out with that ending. Be that as it may, I'm sticking to my guns over it. No rewrites. I've seen what can happen to a story when an author tries to please everyone.dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Lyra_dealwithit.png

So... their logic for falling in love with each other is

:raritystarry: "You're hot"

:applejackconfused: "No, YOU'RE hot"

:raritydespair: "IT MUST BE LURRRRVE" :ajsmug:

Beauty's one thing, but it's only skin-deep. This... kinda strikes me as a little off. Most of these shipfics between the Mane Six do.

1. Would Rarity REALLY give up the chance at a Prince Charming THAT easily?
2. It's true AJ's big on family. That means that sacrificing things that you want in exchange for your family's benefit is part of her way of life. I'm not sure she'd disobey them so readily, no matter HOW much thought she gave this.
3. And this one is for all shipfics between the Mane Six: how does this affect their ability to use the Elements of Harmony? There are reasons why it's hard trying to date a friend you've known for years. And what if they have a bad breakup? They wouldn't be able to use the Elements if that happened. Is it worth the risk?

It does go deeper than the surface attraction, I just wrote about the part when they realized they were attracted physically. As for your other points:
1. I would think that Rarity's experience with Blueblood would cause her to reevaluate her shallow reasons (and let's face it, they were shallow) for wanting to pursue a relationship with a noblepony.
2. AJ's prayers will be answered in the sequel to TSW.
3. There is a flipside to that line of reasoning. If they were to decide to keep it at friendship, those unrequited desires could sour into musings on "what could have been", turning them bitter. And could you stay friends with someone if you fall in love with them, and they date and marry someone else? There's bound to be resentment there.

1515699 Just calling 'em as I see 'em.

This fic is magnifique!

Quite the cute story.

Not the best, but still good

Cute story. A bit quick in my opinion though, oh well. Hope you don't mind if I skip any side bit that has to do with pinkiedash however. :ajsleepy: I don't like pinkiedash :pinkiesad2: Good little world you've built none the less! Definitely gonna watch for more! :rainbowdetermined2:

ESPECIALLY with the promise of a Twi-Spit-Trix-Lee foal madhouse in the future! :rainbowlaugh:

You know...I never thought about that. RariJack has been (one of) my OTPs since I became a brony, but does a romantic relationship affect the Elements of Harmony?

They really do have an Odd Couple[]/i] vibe, don't they? :duck:

Eh, I might read it, but I never liked that pair, sorry.

Well, I haven't gotten around to working it out yet, so no worries. :rainbowwild:

You should make a sequel :D

Excellent! Now, keep up the amazing writing on the Twi-Spit-Cheer-Trixie stories! I am going to have to read the second one this next weekend. Lookin' forward to it!

Awesome story

Very good, but... And this is something that a lot of people, perhaps even the show, get wrong, but it really sticks out for me. 'Y'all' is always plural. Never singular. I don't even use that word and it drives me nuts.

Wow, been a while since I got a comment on this one. In regards to your actual comment, I tend to use y'all as a catch all phrase, even in everyday conversation. Sure, it's lazy to do that, but it's just something that I do (and not just because I'm a southerner). :twilightsheepish:
