Pinkie Pie was chilling out on a big couch in the lobby of the Green Neigh Inn as she waited for everyone else to be ready to bounce so they could all head to CANTERLOT!!! She was excited.
The couch was big enough for three ponies, which was a good thing cuz three ponies were sitting on it, with Pinkie sitting on Applejack’s lap, Rainbow Dash perched over the back of the couch and playing with Applejack’s hair. It was Applejack appreciation hours.
It was hard not to laugh at how perfect everything was; Pinkie loved Applejack, Applejack loved Pinkie and Rainbow, Rainbow also loved Applejack! And Pinkie and Rainbow liked each other a lot too! They still hadn't had enough time to bond quite frankly though, and Pinkie suddenly had the brilliant idea to ask Rainbow to the gala! It’s not like Pinkie had like five other dates!
“Raaaainboooow,” Pinkie cooed, looking at Rainbow and wiggling her fingers like a ghost would do. “I just had a great idea!”
“What’s that, Pinkie Pie?” Rainbow said, taking Applejack’s hat off her head and putting it on herself, running her fingers through Applejack’s mane to boot.
“And how much collateral damage is it gonna cause?” Applejack chuckled, ruffling Pinkie’s mane and giving her a kiss on the forehead.
“That was one time!” Pinkie huffed, but Applejack just smiled all cutely and stuff and Pinkie couldn’t stay mad at her. “And making waffles in the bounce house would’ve worked, if—”
“So what’s your idea, Pinkie?” Rainbow asked, slipping down off the back of the couch to sit next to Pinkie, sandwiching the poor little lesbian between two incredibly hot mares.
“Uhh,” Pinkie’s brain short-circuited as she found her hands on Rainbow’s and Applejack’s thighs.
“You alright there, hon?” Applejack brushed some hair out of Pinkie’s face.
“Yeah, you’re not getting nervous or anything are you?” Rainbow crashed into Pinkie’s side, throwing Pinkie into Applejack’s body, before wrapping her arms around Pinkie. “Like, about the Gala? Like I know you have a bunch of stuff you wanna do, but you’re gonna nail it! No sweat!”
Pinkie was starting to feel a little better as she shuffled around to look Rainbow in the eye, Rainbow giving Pinkie a bright smile.
And then Rainbow leaned in and kissed Pinkie on the forehead.
Now Pinkie was feeling A LOT better!
Rainbow bolted up, her wings flaring out and her cheeks puffing up; she must’ve gotten caught up in the moment and kissed Pinkie by accident, judging by the bright red stain of embarrassment all over her face. Pinkie didn’t mind though, she was kinda buzzing from it.
“Rainbow Dash,” Applejack grinned, scooching closer to Rainbow and putting an arm around her, “why do you look embarrassed all of a sudden?”
“I-I-I didn’t meant to—”
“Rainbow Dash!” Pinkie gasped, throwing her hands to her face. “Do you…” Pinkie grinned the biggest, silliest grin she’d ever mustered in her whole life, and she grinned a lot! “Do you liiiiiike me, Rainbow Dash?”
“I-I w—I mean,” Rainbow chuckled awkwardly and rubbed the back of her neck. “I dunno. I think you’re cute, and I’d like to get to know you better, y’know? I did just get caught up in the moment though, I shouldn’t have kissed you without asking.”
“True,” Applejack pointed out, booping Rainbow’s nose. “But it was an honest mistake, and yer in good company, so don’t sweat it.”
“Yeah,” Pinkie bit her lip and giggled, “you should kiss me on purpose next time!”
“Wh—Pinkie!” Rainbow squealed, jumping up on the back of the couch. “Are we really at like, smooching stage of a relationship? We barely—”
“Do you wanna smooch me?”
“Y-yeah,” Rainbow admitted, smiling adorably.
“I wanna smooch you!” Pinkie beamed. “What more do we need to be at the smooching stage?”
“You make a good point,” Rainbow pondered.
“She often does,” Applejack chuckled, Pinkie grinning at her and slapping her big sexy thigh.
“Still though,” Rainbow groaned, “I also don’t want Fluttershy to rip me in half.”
“What?” Pinkie asked confusedly, the air turning eerily cold with the heavy silence left by Applejack and Rainbow Dash, as they both kinda looked at each other without saying anything. “Why are you guys being quiet? What’s going on?”
“Pinkie, have you—” Rainbow blinked and stared ominously at Pinkie, who was starting to cold sweat.
“Have I what?!” Pinkie yelled. “If somepony doesn’t answer me, I’m gonna go feral! And no one wants to see that!”
“Hon, Fluttershy gets jealous real easily,” Applejack said, Rainbow cringing at her blunt honesty. “Like my relationship with her was fine enough, at least I thought, but as soon as I started datin’ you, she kept avoidin’ me, and has even given me some pretty nasty looks.”
“Yeah, Pinkie,” Rainbow added, her voice coming through as an awkward croaky whisper. “We all thought you knew, cuz everyone else does. And it’s not like I think Fluttershy’s literally gonna rip me in half, but I don’t wanna mess up my relationship wi—”
Pinkie jumped onto the floor and groaned in frustration, stomping her hoof on the ground.
“How come no one told me?!” Pinkie asked desperately. “If Fluttershy is putting up a wall between me and my other relationships, that’s super not okay!”
“We honestly all thought you kn—”
“You thought I knew?!” Pinkie screamed, cutting off Applejack. “You thought that I— why wouldn’t I have done anything or said anything? What’d you think, I was gonna be like ‘oh haha don’t mind my girlfriend, she’ll just bite your damn head off’? Is that what you thought? That I’d be okay with this?!”
Pinkie’s panting was the only thing keeping the early morning hotel lobby from being completely silent, and this time it was her who was making things super awkward.
“I’m sorry,” Pinkie took a deep breath. “I’m not mad at you guys, I’m— I’m upset with Fluttershy, for not just telling me that she was feeling jealous!”
“She just didn’t w—”
“Do not make excuses for her, Rainbow Dash,” Pinkie growled, Rainbow clamming up right away. “She told me everything was fine! I asked if she was okay with me dating Applejack! She said it was fine! I hate that she lied to me! About something super important!”
Pinkie sniffled as tears started to form in her eyes. Applejack and Rainbow both were on her with hugs, and comforting pats, and kind words, all in a matter of seconds, and she hugged them both back and felt really, really grateful for them.
She was wondering if maybe she was overreacting, but her feelings were really hurt by this. She knew that she needed to talk to Fluttershy, and she had faith in her girlfriend that they’d be able to talk things out, but…
…it still really hurt.
As it always should be.
Yes.
I like this. I REALLY like this. I like that you go out of your way to make the characters intelligent and reasonable. Nobody flies off the handle because of an honest mistake.
From the mouths of babes.
Ah. There it is.
Oh no.
Again, I LOVE these small touches.
Oh she's pissed.
Dealing with personal stuff is super okay.
awwww
that
doesn't sound like the couch is actually big enough for 3 ponies.
that is a necessary question to ask whenever pinkie gets an idea
awwwwww
pinkie caught rainbow being soft
that's
one way to put it i guess
a valid way
I'd just like to say (again) that you do a really really good job of making every line of your stories feel like the character in focus is the one saying them. I really get a strong sense of each of the girls based on the word choice, sentence structure, etc.
Also, omniship continues to deliver all the right levels of cute!

thank u! my top priority as a story teller is that i express clearly what's happening in the story, both in the actions that happen but especially in how the characters are feeling and why they're feeling that way. so hearing that my effort pays off always feels great hehe
