From what I heard about the flame wars born from Twilight's ascension and Flurry Heart's birth, I wouldn't be so sure about that. Frankly, I consider it something of a minor miracle that they made Starlight becoming a regular work considering her half-baked "redemption".

This kind of reminds me of an old comic I found online shortly after Twilight became an alicorn. Rainbow was jealous that Twilight had wings and a horn so she told Discord to turn her into an alicorn like Twilight, so he did, an alicorn JUST LIKE Twilight. But your version is much funnier.
