So I can definitely say that I like the concept of this story so far. It's certainly a unique take on the Night Lords, and I approve of that.
There are some grammar errors here and there, but the most common by far is the tendency to randomly slip into present tense. The only other thing I have to question at this point is how he effectively stays hidden while flying in Canterlot or perched on rooftops when the city has quite a number of pegasi living there.
I was a bit iffy when you had Konrad show up, but the explanation you had for his appearance works well. I like it.

6759723 Naaaaaah this was Xeron's second chance to protect someone important to him. He wasn't there for Airy, to protect her like he promised, so Celestia used that to gain his aid.
Uh....She didn't seem to know what those super soldiers of the Imperium are kinda near immune to it...those like her won't be able to do a shite.
I prefer the quick and clean execution personally...Less of a hassle that way. It is also easier on the soul.
But, he is not I and, so, I don't really have a problem with that as long as it is not overly cruel.
