The Autumn Princess

If you know The Princess Rarity and / or RushingAutumnLeaves, then feel free to check out this account that they share!

When Rarity and Applejack endure their final summer together, the last night is what counts the most. With a truck bed full of pillows and the whole night ahead of them, there’s a lot of things in between. There are words. There are numbers. There are kisses. But most importantly, there is love. A love that seems silly, and that of a cliche high school set-up… yet deep down, there might be something more.

Yay! I definitely needed some more Rarijack fluff in my life :rainbowkiss: I've been binge-watching Supernatural too much recently :pinkiecrazy:
This was adorable, sweet, and had a good balance of honest truth and openness in relationships, which is something I often don't find in fluff fics. :raritywink:
This was the first fic of yours I've read (as far as I know), but if all of your fics are like this one, I will read more for sure! :pinkiehappy:

“Or maybe it was the one about that girl with the little people in her head?”

“The movies are nice, but they aren’t memorable."

:ajbemused: I beg to differ, cowgirl. Inside Out is Pixar's best in years. I saw it twice and both times, it had me bawling my eyes out. :raritydespair:

Guess I could try and read a romantic story... Never judge a book by its cover anyway, my not right?

When I wrote that part, I wasn't trying to knock the movie. I loved the movie. It was more of a "movie dates are nice, but they all blur together when that's all you do" kind of thing. They aren't saying that they did or didn't like the movie, they're saying that it's hard to remember what movie they saw last, because all their movie dates have become just a big jumble of dates. None of them really stood out.

6461587 Ah, it's fine, no worries. Missed you.

Pfff the universe needs more fics like this!!!:pinkiehappy::rainbowkiss:

First of all, did Carrie Underwood have anything to do with this?

“This is it,” she said flatly. “Our mysterious middle of the night rendezvous ended up in a dead-end.”

Look up and see.

“Of course! It was… er, it was the one about that girl fighting her government, wasn’t it? And that baker boy? Or maybe it was the one about that girl with the little people in her head?”

Arya Stark? I thought Mycah was a butchers' son? That movie was Fantastic Voyage right?

“Sorry, darling,” she said. “I couldn’t resist. But to be honest, what is your plan? Camping in the back of your truck?”

That does sound like a wonderful evening to spend with Applejack.

“I know it ain’t fancy,” Applejack murmured. “But I just figured, a few hours here, out under the stars, me an’ you, just that, i-it’d be nice. Ya get it?”
“I might,” Rarity said softly. “Though the blankets might be a bit of an over-kill in August,”
“It gets cold out here in August,” Applejack said softly. “I used to come out here all the time. Trust me, you’ll be thankful I brought so many as the night goes on,”
“How long do you expect to be out here?” Rarity asked. Applejack merely shrugged in response and leaned back on one of the many pillows she’d stored.

That sounds perfect. Absolutely perfect.

“Y’know, outta all the times I’ve gone stargazin’, I don’t think I ev’r saw a shootin’ star. I’m startin’ to think they don’t exist, that they’re just myths.”

Rarity's with her. It will happen.

They could go out in the middle of a blizzard and Rarity would still wear a skirt if it was fashionable enough.

Some women are thick skinned enough to endure that with Rarity's slender figure.

Her eyes betrayed her sickly sweet tone of voice. Rarity’s eyes were no longer sparkling, they had lost their spark and shimmer. Applejack felt like her heart was about to be torn.

I'm sorry, did I miss something?

“You can’t remember me without naming a flaming ball of gas in the sky?” Rarity scowled, yanking her hands away.

Suggesting that makes Rarity sound awfully silly.

“Rares, we’ve been together three years. That means somethin’. I don’t wanna lose ya just like that.”
Rarity’s expression softened ever-so-slightly. “Lose me?” she replied. “Whatever would you give that silly idea?”

You're eighteen years old. It happens. It's a very real possibility, and very likely. I hope not, but that hope changes nothing.

They stayed that way for a while. Oddly intertwined, bestowing sad smiles, and gently holding each other

“What you lack in romance skills,

If she were my woman I would be hot butter in her hands.

“I hate admittin’ when you’re right-”
“-oh, believe me, darling, the feeling is mutual.”

Truth hurts sometimes.

A very nice bittersweet fic.

“Of course! It was… er, it was the one about that girl fighting her government, wasn’t it? And that baker boy? Or maybe it was the one about that girl with the little people in her head?”

This has got to be some references to The Hunger Games and Inside Out.

Nice and sweet.

Not sure why it needed an alternate universe tag though. It seems like it could fit in the Equestria girls universe easily.

This story was beautiful plain and simple :twilightblush: :pinkiesad2:
