In the hours after her first party, Moon Dancer contemplates exactly why Twilight Sparkle didn't show up.

It couldn't have been her fault, right?

Well that was sad and depressing....
I love it!

6171736 I'm so glad you liked it! Thanks for reading!:ajsmug:

Nicely written. It's a single, much lengthier scene instead of four shorter ones that tell a story, but it works. Well done.

P.S. If you're interested we could start a group based on shipping Moon Dancer/Twilight (Moonlight). The subtext is in the episode, if you're curious.

6171758 We very well could do that. Glad you liked the story!

I had a feeling that Moonlight shipping would start showing up.

That was sad. :twilightoops: :fluttershyouch: But good, too.
(By the way, her name's Lemon Hearts, not Lemon Drops. :derpytongue2:)

I absolutely love your story.

What the hay was so important that she couldn’t be there for me?”

What really makes this part sad is that this is probably the one time Twilight actually had a legitimate excuse. She was off saving the world from an icy death at the hooves of a mad goddess! Where she really messed up though was in not telling anypony what was going on, and never saying goodbye.

6171940 Whoa, crap! Thanks for the save, man. Fixed!:twilightoops:

6171998 Thanks so much!:pinkiehappy:

6172012 That was the major intent of that line. The fact that Twilight was actually doing something important, but Moon Dancer assumed that she was blowing her off like had happened so many times before, makes for painful irony. All working in favor of the narrative!

Congratulations! 6 July 2015, remember the day and mark it well, friend. Man, I just want to know how you got so many viewers that fast though XD I can't seem to do that.

It's an okay story. Good characterization. 7/10:moustache:

You captured Moon Dancer's struggle wonderfully. Well done!

I really should've read this when the episode came out. Excellent story with solid characterization. I feel like a couple parts could've used more words and vocabulary to add depth, but I digress. 8/10. Good work!

I really felt for MD when Twilight didn't show up to her party. I think the reason that MD was so hurt overall was because Twilight was the only pony in the group who had even remotely the same similarities and interests as her. Of course, Twilight didn't see this because she was so caught up with herself, but MD really did admire Twilight. She must have loved how talented she was and how dutiful she was for studying. And I bet this fic is correct in assuming that MD cut her hair like Twi's in order to get closer to her. Now she even went so far as to change her appearance in order to prove that she didn't want Twilight as a part of her life anymore.

I really loved this fic.

6248335 Tell me about it. Amending Fences really hit me hard because I had basically gone through the exact same thing that Moon Dancer did with Twilight. Therefore, I felt compelled to write this as quickly as I did. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Oh, I know! You should get one to match Twilight’s! You two are always studying together, it’d be soooo cute on you!

Little conversations like this one really sell the emotional tribulation Moon Dancer is going through. Like, instead of just telling us, you backed it up with actual reason and a look inside her head. She was really close with Twilight and felt betrayed.

Good job, man.

Awesome fic! I've got a review for you from the Pleasant Commentator and Review Group.
