Hoping to find a cure to a rare disease that has been tormenting her since she was a filly, Octavia Melody travels to the ancient city of Yharnaram, said to hold a magical remedy powerful enough to heal any illness. Instead, she discovers a metropolis spun into a web of eldritch terrors eager to devour anypony who enters its gates, and, perhaps now that they have found the one they are looking for, the world itself.

This story was born out of my frustration at being incapable of writing a anything worth reading, and is going to be mostly unedited and unplanned. If that doesn't scare you off, then prepare for a tale "told by an idiot, full of sound and fury".

"Stay away from me!" She screamed as her body changed under the light of the moon, her pupils small as pebbles, blood dripping from her hooves, and mouth as they became more wolf like. "I don't want...to...to hurt...you..."

Her body went limp as she fainted, her fur and mane frazzled, paws replaced her hooves, sharp fangs going just past her lips. Vinyl stared in shock as the wolf-like creature lifted itself from the floor with a low growl. It turned to Vinyl, canines bared. It rose its head and let out a loud, mournful howl, and attacked. Vinyl by now had been scared past her wits, and having read a fair amount of folklore herself, expected to be mauled. But instead,

Octavia Melody isn't what you'd call a particularly adventurous pony, but even she can't resist the temptation to investigate a good mystery – especially when that mystery involves one of her greatest musical influences.

The identity of the great composer 'Cecily Cambirvir' has gone unknown for more than a decade, but Octavia heard a rumor that suggested more information could be found in the Changeling Hive Chrysalis. Against her better judgement, she signs up for the changeling cultural exchange program, and rides the train to the hive with her best friend, Vinyl Scratch.

Colgate takes acid... and totally looses her FREAKING MIND!

Everyone knows our sister's story, how she once lived a sad life on a rock farm and ended up in Ponyville. But no one has ever asked what happened to her sisters. No one ever cared what became of them. We are here to fix that. We are here to tell you how we found something to be in a world much bigger and much more terrifying than we ever imagined.

This is a story I've been piecing together in my head and tossing around with a lot of potential storylines. I've finally settled on this one and I believe it's everything i was hoping for. Anyway, what happens is the secondary six meet up and go on a variety of adventures I make up on my own. I fully intend to spin off a lot of the songs from the actual show so i void any rights of my own to that. Word of warning also, this is not a main story to me at all. This is one I'm working on that takes place in the same timeline as Light and Shadow, just much earlier on, and I'm only going to be working on it at all after I'm sure the weekly update for Light and Shadow is ready. Also, this story will have a definitive ending point right around chapter 20, and there will be no real story ark.
All the bad stuff aside I like to think that I've taken a really nice common idea and given it a great revamping. So read on!

Octavia had once lived the life of a a noble. Under the reign of her tyrannical mother to be shaped into a ‘perfect’ mare, Octavia’s only comfort came from music. When that only joy is about to be taken away from her at her arranged wedding, she runs away to the first train leaving Trottingham. From there, she ends up in Ponyville, where she meets a rather mute, and irritable DJ named Vinyl Scratch…
Most of the time. She speaks, but not often. More so than when Octavia was able to speak her mind. Will the two be able to heal from the wounds that made them this way, or will Octavia’s mother be able to track her down and ruin everything that has formed between the two musicians?
