"What are we gonna do, Vinyl!? They're right out there wanting to kill us!" Octavia shrieked, as she held Vinyl against the white tiled wall, her claws slightly digging into her skin
"I don't know! They are our friends, so maybe we can reason with them?" Vinyl 'pony-shrugged', or would it be wolf-shrugged?
Octavia gasped, releasing her grasp, and Vinyl fell to the floor. "Good idea! Pinkie Pie understood you when we bought those...cupcakes from her! So maybe we can tell her that, yes we are werewolves but we don't want to hurt anypony. You go talk to her, since you're good with barking at ponies, while I try not to barf my guts out again after mentioning that cupcake..."
"Sounds like a plan. I'll try." She got up from the floor, and took a glace at the burnt streak of hair, which was now a dark brown, and black mixture. "Here I go." She sighed as she approached the front door. She slowly opened it, as it creaked slightly, to the large lobby where six ponies waited in suspense.
She peeked her head out, and they were right there. She gasped, quickly closing the door, placing her body against i.
"I can't do it! They'll fry me!" She said to no one. "Octy?" She looked around the empty bathroom, until she saw four grey paws in a stall.
"I-I'm fine, just...trying to hold it in..." She said quietly.
"Okay. I'm gonna try again." She took a deep breath as she once again slowly peeked out of the door, they were still there, but closer this time. Her new wolf instinct told her to duck back behind cover, but she knew she had to do this.
All six ponies stared at her as she inched more and more out of the door until she was fully out of the bathroom, pressing herself to the wall.
"Rainbow, it's just a wolf!" Twilight said to the rainbow pony who was shaking behind her.
"Look closer, it's a werewolf!" she replied, trying her best to prepare for an attack.
"It...it looks like...."
"Wait! I know you!" Pinkie cheered, cutting off Twilight as she trotted up to the white wolf. "She and another one bought cupcakes from me!"
"Darling," Rarity began. "I highly doubt a couple of wolves are going to come out of the Everfree forest, walk through town, and straight up to the counter and ask for fine dairy treats." She said with a roll of her eyes.
"This one did! She bought two double chocolate fudge cupcakes with whipped cream and white chocolate shavings!" She said happily and began to ruffle the wolf's mane.
"Pinkie, if you're tellin' the truth, then that means you just fed a couple of canines chocolate!" Applejack stated with an emphasis on chocolate.
"You say that like it's a bad thing..."
"Because it is a bad thing!" Fluttershy sort of yelled as she flew over to Vinyl. "Poor little guy must be sick!" She said as she began to rub the wolf's stomach. "Don't worry little guy, I'll make it better." She cooed, giving Vinyl a soft smile.
Vinyl began panting heavily as she soon flopped to her back, her tail batting against the floor.
"Is...that why it was in the bathroom?" Twilight questioned.
"BLAAARRGGHHH!!"
"What was that!?" Rainbow asked in surprise a she shook like a leaf in the wind.
"Ah'll go check it out." Applejack stated as she trotted into the bathroom.
Octavia took the precaution of closing and locking the stall door when Vinyl left.
"Hello? Any pony in here?" She asked, her voice slightly echoing.
A shocked Octavia knew she was in for it once she heard Applejack's voice. She began hyperventilating, putting a paw to her chest as she took deep breaths as she slowly calmed down. She watched as two pairs of orange hooves approached her stall. One was lifted and a knock came through the door, but being old as it was, the lock slid out of place, and the door swung open.
Expecting an attack she threw her paws over her head and she closed her eyes preparing for the hit, but nothing came, and she peeked out.
Applejack stared down at the cowering form on the floor as she studied it's features. Thick brushed mane. Purple eyes, grey coat, and something that shocked her to the core. A cutie mark, being a pink treble cleft, belonging to her friend,
"Octavia?" She asked the wolf quietly as her whole body began to slightly shake. She also took a step back as the smell coming from the toilet forced her to do so.
Octavia stared at Applejack and slowly nodded.
"You're...a wolf..."
Octavia nodded again.
"Then that means Rainbow was tellin' the truth!" She took a few moments to put the pieces of the puzzle together, until the sudden epiphany of it came in an instant. "Oh my Celestia, let me help you up!" She reached down for the wolf, helping her to her paws.
"Th-thanks." Octavia muttered.
"Did ya just try to say thank you, because I don't understand wolf.
Octavia nodded for a third time.
"So..a werewolf huh?"
Octavia rolled her eyes.
"Well, uh..lets head out to the others, okay?" She said as she walked back out into the lobby, Octavia followed behind from afar.
"So, Applejack." Twilight began. "We found out Vinyl Scratch here is a werewolf based on what wolf whisperer over here said." She nodded her head back to Pinkie Pie in the back ground who waved happily.
"Same thing can be said for Octavia here." She turned to face the grey wolf who had her head low and her tail between her legs.
Upon seeing Octavia exit the bathroom, Vinyl instantly ran into her and hugged her and began licking her cheek.
"AWWWEEE!!" They all cooed.
"So, Ah think we finally found something that really gives Rainbow Dash the scare!" Applejack chuckled.
"What!? I wasn't scared! Just..."
"You were scared, Rainbow. You almost flattened the whole town wiht your sonic rain boom!" Twilight interjected.
"NO! That was...okay, I was scared..." Her ears drooped as she sat on the ground.
"I just want to know how this is all even possible! I've never heard of somepony's physical being changing into another species!" Twilight said excitedly. "I have to run some tests!"
"Twilight?" Rarity asked.
"Yes, Rarity?"
"Within our many days of fighting evil, and all of our crazy adventures we've been on, we've seen time travel, fusing bodies together, bodies being turned to stone, the whole fabric of nature being turned to Discord's liking that one time, and when you went to that other world, you said you turned into a human, whatever that is."
"Yeah I guess you're right." Twilight blushed.
"What I'm trying to say is, I'm not surprised you're surprised of this. And I am surprised you're not surprised, still."
"Oh, hush! Let's just get these two to the library so I can do some testing on them. And before anypony else sees them." She looked to the two wolves as they continued to hug, and Vinyl had been licking Octavia's cheek. "Here we go." She smirked as she sparked her horn, feeling the magic surge through it and with a 'pop' they were in the castle library.
"Who's a good werewolf? Who's a good werewolf?" Fluttershy cooed as she was once again rubbing Vinyl's stomach.
"SPIIIIKE!!!" Twilight yelled. A few seconds later the small purple and green dragon entered through the large brown double doors.
"Yes, Twilight?" He asked as he approached with his usual happy smile.
"Find me anything and everything you can that has to do with werewolves, okay?"
"Sure...why werewolves?" Spike asked with a tilt of his little head.
Twilight pointed a hoof towards the two werewolves who were now currently wrestling on the floor.
Spike gasped with wide eyes. "Wow, they actually exist!?" He asked in surprise.
"Yes, now go!"
"Y-...yes Twilight!" He gave a quick salute and disappeared down a row of crystal bookshelves. Too bad for him Twilight has a much larger arsenal of books he would have to look through now that they live in a castle.
"Vinyl! Octavia!" Twilight trotted up to the two who's heads shot up from their names being called as they separated and stood.
"First thing I want to do is take an x-ray exam, so if you could, please turn to your left." She ordered and they did as told.
Vinyl was quick to listen, but Octavia was a bit reluctant as she never really liked being bossed around.
Twilight then reached somewhere out of sight, and pulled out a screen and a monitor which she stuck her tongue out upon pressing a few buttons, using her magic to position the screen behind them correctly. Just as she pressed the red button to take the photo, Pinkie Pie suddenly popped up as the picture came out of a printer built into the side of the monitor.
"Pinkie Pie!" She barked, as she let out a long breath.
"Sorryyyyy..." She said apologetically a she scooted out of sight.
"Now let's see what I got here," She said as she looked over the photo. Pinkie's head partially showed out of the bottom of the picture, with her hooves up, coincidentally covered Vinyl's and Octavia's plots since Twilight forgot to use the covers for them.
She then pulled a random book off a nearby shelf, opening it up to a page with a skeletal body of an equine form, and compared it to Vinyl and Octavia's current lupine forms.
"Wow, this is amazing!" She said as she looked the two photos over. Vinyl and Octavia had full wolf bodies, with zero pony in them. "You guys completely tuned into another species! What was it like!?"
"Arf arp..." Octavia muttered.
"She said it was painful." Pinkie said, her head popping into view again only for a second.
"Ruff uff arf arp." Vinyl added.
"And she said it was very painful!"
"I see. Was it an instant transformation, or a slow and gradual transformation?" She then asked as Spike came back with a large stack of books in his arms.
"Here you go, Twilight." Spike grunted as he put the books down next to Twilight.
"Thank you, Spike."
He nodded as he left the room.
"Now how was it again?" Twilight asked.
"Arff ruffarf arp." Octavia said.
"She said it was slow and gradual."
"Uh, huh. Now, just give me a minute or two to look through this first book." She said as she took it in her purple aura of magic, as well as conjuring a note pad and quill along with a small jar of ink. She began flipping through the pages. "It says here that werewolves are just a mythical creature found in dark tales of folklore, and do not really exist." She stated. "Well, now we know they do exist. And I'm sure we all know that they either change voluntarily, or on the nights of the full moon, or for as long as the moon looks full, which is usually four or five nights. and it is full as we speak." She continued as she began jotting down notes.
"But how did they become werewolves in th' first place?" Applejack asked.
"Arff rerff rarf."
"Vinyl said Octavia bit her last night." Said Pinkie Pie.
"So, how did you-"
"Rerarff arff arp arff arp arp."
"And Octavia said she was bitten too." Said Pinkie Pie.
"Oh, that can't be right. It says you have to be born a werewolf, and that bites really don't work or do spells."
"Darling, who knows, there has never been an actual werewolf in the history of Equestria." Rarity said.
"So how do they exist in the first place?" Twilight asked with a slight tilt of her head.
"Who knows!?" Pinkie giggled as she stood upside down on the ceiling.
"Nor do we know how she does that." Twilight rolled her eyes with a shake of her head. "You guys are werewolves alright, but you were made by being bitten, you guys still control your thoughts and actions when the book says you have no control over anything, and you become savage beasts. But you guys are as if you're still yourselves, just in wolf bodies."
Twilight walked up to Octavia.
"Can you open your mouth for me?"
Octavia usually would ask why, then say no after the given answer, but with the current situation, she complied, lowering her jaw.
"Wow! Those are some pretty sharp canines you've got!" Twilight giggled slightly. "The book also says it's whats in the saliva that when it enters the blood stream, it goes undetected into the blood cells, and completely changed the DNA on every full moon which causes the transformation. I'm actually curious to see if it would work and try it on myself, but that wouldn't help me." She stated as she placed the book down, taking the next one from the stack.
"That would actually be funny to see, Twilight." Applejack chuckled. "You as a werewolf."
"Maybe, and maybe not." She turned the book to the a page which had the picture of a regular wolf, and a werewolf. "From what I see here is that the pony who is a werewolf, becomes a bipedal hybrid of the two species, and it looks...rather creepy...yet you two have obtained the bodies of a full wolf." She set the book back down on the stack. "Seeing how much of this information you have defied, I can see these books won't help me, and since you were both 'bitten' it will be hard to find out how werewolves actually exist." She sighed and let out a small yawn, and soon the rest of them did the same.
"So what now, darling?" Rarity asked.
"You guys can go home, or stay here if you want. But I need Vinyl and Octavia to stay, so I know nothing else happens, and I will have to send Celestia a letter about this." She let out another yawn.
"Ah'm gonna head home. Ah've got plenty of chores in the morning." Applejack said as she left the room.
"Me too. Somepony has to watch over Sweetie Belle or she'll wreck the place. So, I'll stop by tomorrow to see how things are going." Said Rarity as she left.
"What about you Fluttershy?" She turned her head to see she had fallen asleep against Vinyl's side. "Think you could stay, Pinkie Pie? I need somepony to translate what these two what these two say to me."
"Oki doki loki!" She cheered happily as she jumped in place.
"Vinyl, Octavia, you guys can sleep in the room just down the hall to the right, okay?"
The two wolves nodded in response as they began to walk out of the library. Vinyl first placed Fluttershy on her back with her magic.
"Ugh, what a long night." Twilight sighed as she teleported to her room where Spike had fallen asleep in his bed, holding his Rarity plushie close to him. "Good night Spike." She whispered as she climbed into bed and she soon fell asleep.
"Well...tonight was...interesting, to say the least." Octavia said as she got into bed. "We went out to eat, attempted to see a movie, and Rainbow Dash ended up making a mess of the place with her sonic rain boom. I bet many other store keepers were, or won't be too happy to see their buildings mingled and broken."
"Yeah, it was a bit messed up." Vinyl giggled as she laid Fluttershy in the other bed and climbed into bed by Octavia
The purple painted room had lightly been light up from one of the few torches around the room. Two beds sat on the opposite side of the room than the door, each with a window above it. They were both queen size beds with blue covers, and a red rug beneath.
"I'm ready for sleep." Octavia yawned.
"Not me really..." Vinyl stared out of the window at the full moon above. "How do you feel about being a werewolf, Octy?"
"I don't know actually. But you seem to like it, don't you?"
"Yeah, I do. It's really fun, actually. We had quite the adventure tonight. I wonder how many more adventures we have with every full moon." Vinyl sighed as she laid down next to her marefriend.
"To be honest, as long as you're there with me, I'd love to see them." Octavia replied as she snuggled into Vinyl, closing her eyes as she laid her head on Vinyl's chest.
Vinyl smiled. "I feel being werewolves has only brought us closer, don't you think?"
being too tired and on the edge of visiting dream world, she simply nodded as she fell asleep.
"Well goodnight, Octy." Vinyl kissed Octavia on the head before blowing out the torch on the end table between the two beds and falling asleep.
