Could use a bit of proofreading, but lovely all the same.

Certainly unexpected, so he succeeded there; I was honestly almost expecting him to contemplate ending it all, only for Lyra to be the one to pull him back from the brink. And maybe he'd go for Elo, if Lyra wasn't compatible.

I'm glad I found this gem of a story. Thank you, Gaiascope.

I'm glad this was featured in Seattle's Angels at some point, because I'd have never read it otherwise. Excellent story!

Wow that has left me actually stunned. I hope the ending is meant to be interpreted as a good one. Maybe it’s because I have wasted so many years but this just hit me harder than any physical object. And the thumbnail... like I said, this whole thing has left me stunned.

Edit : and as if on cue I open up my windows, look outside in the middle of the night, and it’s snowing.

My kingdom for a scene break! :raritycry: And no Romance tag? I'm surprised.

This was fairly profound, though, I liked it.

Well, never let it be said this site has enough taste to notice good stories like this in the first place. Featured on SA and it still doesn't get much of a views bump! What a crying shame, since this is absolutely a great story. Colt has a very powerful, vivid narrative of his life throughout, though I do think the story could have been broken up into two chapters. There's a good sense of theme running through the story. I feel his time in Hoofington skated by just a little too quickly (then again, since it's a shameful part of his life, I can see why he would skip by fast). Colt manages to defy his real name through most of the fic. The one time he doesn't, it ends in absolute heartbreak and him losing five years of his life before he finally gets back on track. I certainly hope him and Octavia at least manage to find some connection, even if it isn't romantic.
