This story is a sequel to The Darkness among the Stars

The madness has fallen in face of the unrivalled power of the saviour of Equestria. The sun decided to go on a long journey to gather new expierences and allies. So it was up to her younger sister to rule the land.

Two years had passed under the peaceful reign of the night and the ponies of Equestria had returned to their normal lives. Every day they worshipped and praised silently the name of their saviour, Soul Tearer.

But peace is evanescent and not suited to last for long. A new evil is throwing its shadow upon the small villiage of Ponyville. The ponies of Equestria are tired of fighting, tired of misery and loss but they won't budge that easy. Applejack and her friends will be forced to oppose these shadows with all the power they have left.

But what will they do? The elements are gone. Soul Tearer is gone and even Princess Celestia is gone.

Where is faith when you need it the most? Maybe even Death will become a reliable ally in face of the upcoming danger.

Twilight Sparkle stood on her hind legs, her forelegs to her side swaying back and forth as her scythe dropped to the ground. Tears welling up in her eyes, she looked down at the corpse that laid before her, still young, but ready to die. It wasn't her fault she was chosen for this, all because she became fascinated with new powers.

"I can't believe this."

Twilight stared over the horizon, gazing on the city of Ponyville in the distance. It's inhabitants, who once saw her as one of their best friends, now barely knew her. She could walk the streets to Sugar Cube Corner, or help her friend Applejack on the family's farm. She could even sit in her Library with Spike and read her favorite books.

But none of it would be the same.

"I am evil."

King Sombra came from an old age, a time where darkness and evil were prevalent across the land. The Princesse's power and influence were weaker in those days, for the land of Equestria was divided amongst many kingdoms of lesser Princesses and Princes. But out of all their ruling neighbors, The Four Shepherds held the most power of all, even threatening Celestia and Luna's kingdom. However, all of that changed when they vanished for a thousand years, ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity. Until that is, when the Crystal Kingdom reappeared, along with one of the Shepherds. King Sombra, however, was thankfully vanquished swiftly, but the following peace of his defeat would not last as long as anypony might think. A new force sets its eyes on the recently coronated Princess Twilight Sparkle, one that seeks to restore a lost heritage and remind the land of who is the true owner of the night. For when one evil is smitten, another appears in its place. And King Sombra was only the first in line.

This is a side story to Second Princess of the Night

Equestria lies in a state of peace, having returned to its comforts after the string of recent incidents, each of them capable of vast destruction in their own right. But the series of threatening events has yet to end, and an evil from the past re-emerges with the darkness it had once walked. With its return, Princess Twilight Sparkle vanishes, a sister perishes, and the traditions of old bloodlines that had been kept secret now reveal themselves.

It is said that a hero is destined to do great deeds, and that through careful guidance and growth, they will topple any foe or evil that stands in their way. The young are often trusted as the bearers of these hopes and ideals, to be a new generation to fight the sins of the past. Yet despite the claims of heritage, or the careful guidance of wise teachers, even the most promising of heroes will still perish. Regardless of whatever books you may have read that said the hopes of the future lie in the youths whose unknown destinies have been thrust into their lives, one simple fact will remain. The good die young.

Princess Twilight Sparkle’s coronation is finally over and life continues happily for everyone’s favorite pastel-colored equines. For now.

Darkness is coming. An evil plan set to motion centuries go draws to its conclusion. Vicious villains from the ancient times shall arise once more. Will the ponies finally fall when the magic of friendship just isn’t enough?

History truly has a funny way of trying to repeat itself.
When Twilight Sparkle being the only one to know what is to come, she will have to play the sadistic game that is life with the chance of losing everything.
What are she and her friends ready to do for their friendships? Can everypony and Spike handle the truth?

Untied loose ends and mistakes of the past will resurface bringing out doom.
What will become of Equestria? Can be harmony preserved?

Just as Twilight learns of a major revelation in her life, Fluttershy is possessed by the evil entity that corrupted Princess Luna long ago. Now Twilight must face her new destiny - and lead the surviving ponies on a quest to save their friend...possibly at the ultimate cost.

In this, it has come real close to be destroyed by a twisted secret that has laid at the heart of its Diarchy since before the time of Discord.

Twilight Sparkle, one of its greatest heroines, has had to come to the hard conclusion that the pony she loved as a second mother never existed.

That instead of a kind, benevolent princess, what she loved was instead a mask.

One that hid a truly selfish monster within.

Anyone at Crystal Prep who knew Twilight Sparkle would never assume that this shy bookworm with top grades in all subjects could hold something evil within.

Twilight Sparkle's life has been one running tragedy, costing both her arm and her family. When she turned to those around her, she was told the same thing every time; "Be strong, for the Goddesses always know what is best". Understandably, It has left her feeling quite jaded.
