Scootaloo and the rest of the CMC are now in High School together, things are pretty normal for them, a distinct lack of giant monster attacks in recent years at least. Scootaloo even has a nice coltfriend that has been helping the CMC out a bit. Just as things seem to be going well Scootaloo gets thrown for a loop when she feels sick, what will happen next?

Rainbow Dash had recently admitted to Scootaloo that she's her birth mother, Rainbow Dash is nervous about what this is going to mean for not only her future but Scootaloo's. Help comes to her from an unexpected place however, another single mom living in Ponyville who understands where Rainbow is coming from, Derpy Hooves.

Scootaloo is called home one day after school lets out because her parents have something important they need to tell her, they're going out to dinner to celebrate their anniversary.

Of course, that means Scootaloo will need a foalsitter for the evening, and her parents already have the perfect pony in mind for the job. But Scootaloo doesn't think she needs a foalsitter anymore and can take care of herself. When her parents insist otherwise, Scootaloo decides there's only one thing to do, run away from home before the foalsitter shows up!

Unfortunately, Scootaloo will quickly discover that it's not an easy task to hide from her parents OR her big sister, not in a town where all of Scootaloo's best hiding places are well known. Will Scootaloo figure out a way to outsmart the grown-ups?

Scootaloo ran away years ago. Since then she's settled into a life in Ponyville. It's not much of one, but it's hers. One cold day she finds herself in the library.

Twilight Sparkle is a Princess, sworn to help all the citizens of Equestria, but how can she help somepony she doesn't know needs it.

It's been almost three years since Echo officially came out of hiding, adopted her daughter, and began the arduous task of becoming part of what was, to her, an alien culture. She's managed to secure financial stability, but now she struggles with things that are altogether foreign to her.

What does it mean to have friends? She knows it's a good thing, she knows it keeps her alive, but it seems like there's a measure of responsibility to it. More importantly, how can she be a good mother to her daughter if she doesn't understand something so fundamental to ponies as friendship?

Moving back to Ponyville presents its own challenges though, as she finds an unexpected surprise waiting for her.

Seeking respite, she turns to help in Canterlot, only to find that there is an even greater menace there, waiting to ruin her peaceful existence.

She really can't seem to get a break.

Echo is a high ranking changeling officer. The Canterlot invasion was going perfectly, and her battalion had personally defeated the Elements of Harmony. Suddenly, she finds herself far flung from Canterlot, crashing into the Everfree forest. Now she is faced with a difficult reality - her hive, the only family she's ever known, no longer exists, and she must adapt to life as a pony. What she finds out about herself, though, will surprise her.

Rated Teen for occasional suggestiveness and language, tagged gore for brief violence, particularly in later chapters.

Dark because later chapters get pretty ... well, dark.

Addendum 5/29/2018

This story is now, as of this addendum, five years old. It is getting more attention as I put out new chapters on the sequel.

I recognize that this story has problems, and that some of them by their nature carry over to the sequel; please remember that when I started writing this, I was not yet even old enough to legally drink in the US. A lot has happened and a lot has changed, and there are many things about this story I regret including, but which it is now too late to change. Some of those things I have simply done my best to ignore and make irrelevant, but some of them are errors from a 19 year old me that will haunt me until the sequel is finished.

In short, please be gentle.

Rainbow Dash has a secret. One untold to the world, except for one pony and one pony alone, her wife Fluttershy. There's a reason Scootaloo is more like Rainbow then unlike her. And as for that secret? Scootaloo is her daughter. Long ago, after a night of passion with a mare who's name she's long since forgotten, Scootaloo was left on her doorstep nine months later. Problem is, Rainbow was always afraid she'd turn out like her father, who was an abusive drunk, and because of that fear of turning out like her father she gave Scootaloo up for adoption. But when she learns the cycle is repeating in Scootaloo's home by the parents who were supposed to love and care for her, Rainbow must finally face her demons in that old Poison Whiskey...
