Not to mention that her mother, Twilight Sparkle, has become an alicorn just like her. Things couldn't be better. However, Nyx covers up a dark secret: something that could spoil her happiness and the happiness of those she cares about. With Hearth Warming day is soon to approach and her mother chosen by the Princesses to plan the thousand year anniversary of the Windigos defeat. Nyx is determined to keep this secret more than ever. However, that is the least of her worries, for unbeknownst to Equestria an ancient enemy plans to enact its terrible revenge on the nation. Will Nyx and the mane six rise to the occasion, or will Equestria and the world fall?

In the wake of Discord's return to stone and a restored peace to Equestria, the world is again plummeted into darkness as an ancient, forgotten evil returns. Celestia and Luna quickly find themselves forced into a deadly tournament, as Twilight and her friends race against time to save them.

Although this story features Pen Stroke's Nyx (Past Sins), this story itself is not related to Past Sins, nor does it require a reading of Past Sins.

One cruel night, Twilight Sparkle reads aloud from Demon Heart, and an evil ruler named Blackfire escapes the boundries of the book, landing in her living room. Suddenly, Nyx's in the middle of the kind of adventure she thought only took place in fairy tales. Somehow she must master the magic that conjured up this nightmare. Can she change the course of the story that has changed her life forever?

NOTE: This story takes place ten years after the events of Past Sins, so technically, Nyx is ten years old in this fic.

Nyx Can't seem to sleep, although that's probably due to her Aunt Pinkie Pie promising to shoot her out her party cannon in celebration of her Seventeenth birthday. But Nyx wants something else for her birthday, answers to the question of how exactly her mother came to have a dragon hybrid as a brother, how she made friends with a slightly psycotic party animal who has no respect for the laws of physics, a slightly stuck up but extremely generous and beautiful fashion deigner, a brash but loyal and all around daredevil of a Peagasus, A stuborn as a mule but honest to the core apple farmer, and a socially terrified pegasus who's afraid of heights, can befriend any animal, and has a death stare that would shame Celestia. And of course The all important question of how she became an Alicorn. Luckily for her these things all tie together.

I really don't know why I fell into this world. I don't even know how I got here. All I know is that I woke up as a pegasus pony on a cloud above Ponyville. But, this isn't the average Ponyville. This is the Ponyville altered by the presence of the adorable Nyx, the reincarnation of Nightmare Moon, placed into Twilight Sparkle's care. And Season 2 hasn't begun by the time this adventure of mine starts. Where will it end? Celestia only knows, and even she might not.

*Note: I have gotten permission from PenStroke to use the character Nyx, as well as reference events in 'Past Sins'. However, this is an AU of 'Past Sins', based on the version that I read on Equestria Daily. This version is prior to the Season 2 clean-up that PenStroke is currently writing. His latest version will be set post-Season-2, and contain appropriate references. This is based on the non-Season-2 compliant version.

Two years after Nyx was stripped of the Nightmare's power, Twilight Sparkle is attempting to raise Nyx as a normal filly. But as Nyx's magical abilities begin to grow out of her control, the pair quickly earn the attention and ire of some powerful ponies who do not have Nyx's best interests in-mind.

During the night, the Elements of Harmony mysteriously vanish, and Princess Celestia enlists the aid of their bearers to find them. Twilight is forced to choose between her duties to her princess and her duties to her daughter. In the process, she discovers a web of conspiracy surrounding her daughter that reaches back a thousand years into Equestrian history. Will Twilight be prepared to face the things she learns along her journey's path: about Nyx, about Celestia, about Equestria, about the Elements...
