Everypony has a story. Some tell of heroic feats and grand adventure. Others tell of villainy against the forces of Harmony. The story of an average guard, however, is one of obscurity. They live in the background, unnoticed but ever-present.

Silent Knight assumed his tale would be like that of his father's: join the Royal Guard and serve Equestria. He would be just another helmet and spear, part of the rank and file. And that was all he ever wanted.

However, when Captain Shining Armor asked for volunteers to form a House Guard for the recently returned Princess Luna, it was Silent's hooves that stepped forwards to set his new life in motion.

There are only a couple of things worse than wasting time in a room, listening to other ponies droning on about annoying and irrelevant subjects.

When the weather factory in Cloudsdale suffers a catastrophic failure, weatherponies and Wonderbolts alike are scrambling to salvage the situation. Among them is a weatherpony whose special talent, her very reason to be, is to control and harness the weather's power, and she might well be Cloudsdale's best and last hope.

Her name is Windy Weathertop, and she is the only Earth pony in the weatherpony corps.

Holly Heartwood, who once toured the roller derby circuit under the name 'Holly Homewrecker' has come into possession of a older row house in the city of Manehattan. After receiving the house and a small inheritance, she decides to stay in Manehattan, find a real job, and perhaps settle down a bit.

As fate would have it, Holly's home is just a few blocks away from Manehattan's oldest firehouse, a historical landmark. She goes there looking for a job, but first, Holly has to prove that she is tough enough.

As it turns out, the fire department is not ready for a former roller derby star known as Holly Homewrecker...

But this lost race has returned, a menacing force appearing far to the north. Twilight Sparkle decides to investigate and ask the Princesses about the details, but she soon finds herself responsible for an empire of monsters, worshipping Twilight as the successor to the Mare in the Moon. How will she handle the pressure?

Twilight becomes alicorn of the stars. This is sort of a problem, because Luna kind of already was alicorn of the stars. Oops!
