Memories are fragile things. So easily muddled. So susceptible to time's eternal erosion. For beings as old as Celestia, she knows this all too well, countless events, places, and faces mixing together into one giant blur. However, there are certain memories that her mind simply refuses to forget, and others that it seems far too eager to let go of.

When the princess finds an ancient relic, one of the few survivors from her nearly forgotten past, she believes that Luna may enjoy reminiscing with her about the things—both the good and the bad—that such an item brings.

Celestia, now completely controlled by her evil side, has defeated her sister and trapped the World in an everlasting day, and plans to rule over it as Supreme Empress Daybreaker. She has trapped the Crystal Empire, and made any form of communication impossible for Twilight. The Cutie Map calls for the young princess and her friends to stop this disaster before it's too late.

There is a strong argument to be made towards the Map's lack of a proper understanding of priorities.

A lone urban explorer has found the body of a deceased woman. Her name: Sunset Shimmer. She rests upon a book that glows as it beckons to be read.

Though her body is cold, something stirs. The explorer will find out the hard way that some bodies are better left undisturbed.

Not everypony who crawls out of a stable can be a Littlepip or a Blackjack. Some try and fail. Some just give up after a while. Some are still alive fifteen years after they emerged, admittedly, crippled or insane, but hey, this is the wasteland. Cyborgs Anne and her brain damaged mother Lee are forced to return to the hell hole that created them in order to find out what was done to them almost two decades ago, and that means putting down their tools and picking up their guns again.

While trying to help Applejack with some baking, Starlight Glimmer accidentally shatters a mixing bowl that belonged to AJ's mother. This leads to frenzied research, a discussion of the universe's fundamental nature, several whirlwind races across Ponyville, an attempted theft, and the possible creation of a new form of magic. You know: the usual.

This is the story I would've written for the July 2016 Writeoff Association contest, "The End of an Era," but I didn't get a chance to actually put it together till two weeks after the writing weekend. Many thanks to Blazzing Inferno for comments on the first draft.

Sunset is feeling a bit uprooted facing the changes that come with graduation, so she and her friends set off on a road trip to make this last summer one to remember. And New Mexicolt seems the perfect place. Art, history, and natural beauty abound. But strange auroras haunt the skies, and there are reports of UFOs.

Really, the state motto is The Land of Enchantment. They should have seen this coming.

Applejack had always felt secure in her friendships, with the Elements of Harmony tying them together like family. But when the Elements are gone, she can't help but feel her friendships slipping. In this troubling time, one of those she thought she was losing comes to prove just how wrong she is.

Daring Do needs an expert in ancient seapony languages. Minuette needs a vacation. Moondancer just needs to get out of the house more.
