I don't write, so much as I perform acts of high-wire fiction without a net. Come watch me fall! I believe in narrative coincidence, the transcendent power of hopeful creativity, and the Oxford Comma.

Once upon a time in a town called Coeur De Cheval, there lived a colt named Knead who learned that he could touch dead things and bring them back to life, but only for one minute. Any longer, and something else has to die. Young Knead grew into the Pie-maker Pony, and along with griffon private investigator Featherson Cod, continued to wake the dead in the name of justice.

Their travels brought them to a small town known as Ponyville, where lived one Pinkamena Diane Pie, who was also a baker, but had no idea waking the dead was even possible. When murder comes to her sleepy town however – as well as a mysterious pony and griffon – she takes it upon herself to do some investigating of her own.

It is a well-known fact that motherhood changes a mare. In Cadance's case, it seems to be changing her into Princess Celestia.

A first-in scout from the Associated Worlds investigates the anomalous star system IGS 254672, expecting to find the home of a machine god. She finds herself making first contact with sophont ponies instead. A couple of them are weakly godlike ponies, but still...

Neither world will be quite the same again.

Side stories and notes can be found here.

(This is actually a crossover with the original SF that I write as my day job, which is to say with the universe of Vignettes of the Star Empire and The Core War and Other Stories, and if you like - although it should not be necessary to read this - you can read a whole selection of the nanofiction I write in that setting over at the Eldraeverse blog. I also have a Patreon which exists to fund my ongoing original writing, but if anyone wants to give me money for this instead - I'm not asking, in this case, but you never know - I surely won't turn it down.

The Eldraeverse also has a Discord, which has an #advancedverse channel specifically for this fic's AU; feel free to drop in at: https://discord.gg/SnzkKhf

As such, I should warn you in advance, gentle reader, that updates may be erratic, because I also have said writing-as-a-day-job to do and it has to take priority. I hope that won't put you off.

Timeframe-wise, it's safe to assume these events start sometime in the middle of S3, and continue from there. The situation will of course butterfly-effect away from canon with reasonable speed, and there may be a few changes needed in the course of the fusion, hence the AU tag.)

This story is a sequel to Memento Mori

Twilight learned a valuable lesson, long ago. Memento Mori: you too, will die. It was a bitter pill, but she accepted it and her boundless curiosity about the darkest of lores was for a while sated. But when she discovers a curious volume in the bottom of Ponyville library, hidden in the most unsuspecting of places (for after all, who would look in such a sleepy town?) she begins to feel a pull that she is not sure she wishes to resist.

(A sequel of sorts to Momento Mori, featured on EQD.)

Chrissi Bumbles is a lot of things.

Clumsy? A bit.

Kind? You bet!

Suspicoius? No way in Faust.

Queen Chrysalis is a lot of things.

Evil? Perhaps.

Cold-hearted? Maybe.

Unable to feel emotions? No.

Chrysalis creates a new name for herself and re-infiltrates Canterlot, searching for a way to relinquish her title as Queen to Cadence. Along the way, she runs into a deep blue pegasus stallion with an lightning bolt mane. Literally. The stallion, named Thunder Bolt, is intrigued by Chrysalis, and decides to keep an eye on her.
Chrysalis, full of sadness, pushes the stallion's attempts for her heart away. However, she never expected this level of persistence. Will Queen Chrysalis, Ruler of the Changelings, fall to a simple pegasus stallion? Read to find out!

This story is a prequel to my earlier story, Chrysalis Cries. If you want, you can read this and then head over there afterwards. This'll help shed some light on the other story.

Princess Celestia had a good day. Luna had been going out more often and was becoming quite fond of nightclubs, her dear niece Cadance had formally announced her pregnancy—though, privately, Celestia felt she was too young to be a great aunt—and, of course, Twilight, her beloved former student, had taken on her first student and Celestia couldn't be prouder! Yes, it had been a good day.

Celestia Sol woke up much like she did every day the morning: sun waking her as it danced upon her eye lids. Wait, the sun? Celestia's eyes snapped open to reveal she was in Twilight's old room in the observatory. On the other side of the room was a smaller bed where a small dusky unicorn was drooling on her pillow.

Clearly, it must be Tuesday.
