Cerberus has one job, and that job is to guard the Gates of Tartarus so that no evil creatures can escape. He's had this job for a long time, and not once did he defy his duty. Sure, he left his post that one time, but he never intentionally set someone free. Not that he ever wanted to.

But what if somepony was cast into Tartarus through no fault of their own? And what if that somepony is a pony that Cerberus really cares about? Is there a protocol for this scenario? Alas, no. It's never happened before. So, the big question remains:

What now?

Princess Luna has many responsibilities, she raises the Moon at night, she watches over Equestria in the night... and she guards the dreams of troubled ponies. Making sure Nightmares couldn't take hold for long in any pony under her care. What most ponies don't realize is how serious this duty is. Nightmare's aren't just fears that gain form in your dreams, they are beings that prey upon troubled ponies as they sleep. Luckily, Luna protected Equestria from this threat quite well over her rule... but during her thousand year banishment no one was there to stop the Nightmares from growing, from spreading. She returns to find the dreams of her ponies miraculously intact, but she couldn't understand why. Nightmares still existed, but..... something else had been fighting them in her absence. Enter the world of dreams, and it's new protector, a strange being called NiGHTS. Together the Princess and the former Nightmaren battle the forces of fear that wish to destroy the dreams of ponies.~~~~
A NiGHTS/MLP crossover. I'm terrible at the games myself, but I find myself in love with the music, the backstory, and the characters, even if I can't go through the levels. I'm not sure where this story will go, but hey, with best Princess and best sega character, who can go wrong? Tags might be added as the story progresses and changes.

After being freed from their bonds, the Emotional Entities seek out a world where they can live in peace and harmony. What better place to live than Equestria, a land which embodies the very powers of will, hope, compassion, and love. But can the entities of the Emotional Spectrum fit in with the pony race? And can they truly escape the turmoil of the universe they left behind, or will a new War of Light be ignited?

Dragons. Big. Selfish. Treasure mongers. No other creature in Equestria is as selfish as they. The spend their entire centuries long lives building and hoarding huge stockpiles of treasures, which they guard fiercely and frighteningly. Many are the treasure hunters who've attempted to cash in on the goldmine that is a dragons hoard. They almost always regret it.

One dragon is actually really strange about it, however. Oh, he has a hoard, which he guards just as fiercely as any other. But! But, he actually has the capacity to trust certain ponies and other creatures enough to let them gaze upon his most precious of treasures. This isn't the most surprising thing, however, despite its seeming impossibility. No. The most surprising thing is just what treasures his hoard contains...
