This story is a sequel to The Enchanted Kingdom

Hello!

I am completely restarting this story as an entirely new story to go live sometime soon. Go here for more info!

Once upon a time, there was a mare who did not believe in fairytales, and a very different mare who did not believe in herself. Their lives intertwined, weaving together a fairytale like no other, filled with chaos and love, friends and enemies, adventures and tragedies. A fairytale they felt would last forever. But it couldn't.

Be it with a bang or with a whisper, everything eventually must come to an end, whether we like it or not—their story is no different.

With nothing left to lose and everything to gain, all Rarity and Twilight can do is make sure it's an ending worth telling.

Final story in The Enchanted Trilogy.

I have moved on from Fimfiction but The Enchanted Carousel is still actively being written and published over on my personal website TALES FROM HOLLOW SHADES!

If you like my work and can afford it, please consider joining my Patreon! Funds go to paying for the chapter artworks and paying the artists more! And also helping me pay my rent ,,,,

Raven Song doesn't hate her job. Honest! It's just... it could be better, right? Most ponies she knows don't go in with this overwhelming feeling of gloom and misery; no storm cloud of self loathing following them onto the train in the morning. Then again, most ponies don't have to fetch tea for the Princess of Equestria.

It's been almost twenty years since Sunburst last spent the night at Starlight's home. Much has changed since then. If it weren't for her other friends finding a way for them to reconnect, Starlight might have truly lost her first friend. While she looks back fondly on their friendship as foals, Sunburst doesn't even seem to like talking about that time in their lives, much less revisiting it.

When Starlight approaches Sunburst the night before he returns to the Crystal Empire, she inadvertently discovers something about her old friend that might explain it all.

Inspired by a scene from Uncommon Bond. Story takes place towards the end of the episode.

The stars have been Celestia's tireless companions since the heat of the sun first scorched her soul clean. For a thousand long, lonely years they have been the only constant in her life. Their soft voices just barely cresting the horizon as she pulls the sun into place before they go silent for another day.

Some days she wishes she never heard them at all.

Written in an hour for a speedwrite at Quills and Sofas and presented here with some editing. Thanks to the everyone in that server, really. I wouldn't be the writer I am nor the writer I'm going to be were it not for y'alls presence in my life. Special thanks to the lovely, talented, and heart-wrenchingly kind Seer for editing assistance.

A queen can only stomach so many failures, so many chances at a better life crushed underhoof by some self-important pony before she snaps. This would be her last shot at the love at the heart of the Crystal Empire. One of them would come out alive and the other would fail for the last time. She didn't care which.

Violence tag for character death in flashback.

Twilight wanted to relax. Really, she did! She had been trying to relax for her entire life and when it finally looked like a day off was within reach... Rarity started glowing. Like, actually glowing. And Twilight's the only one that can see it! So it falls to her, of course, to take care of things as quickly as possible.

Editing done by the ever capable and endlessly delightful wishcometrue, to whom I owe both this fics creation and my life. She can do no wrong. Cover art credit of Tumblr user cutecherryblossom.

Life and love with a princess wasn't easy. Nothing good in Fluttershy's life ever was. Luna's insistence on fixing a broken shelf on a lazy spring day gives them both a lot to think about.

Written within an hour for a Quills and Sofas speedwrite then expanded upon and edited with the help of the esteemed wishcometrue, author of Chamomile.

Ever since Rarity knew she was a filly, she knew what it meant to be a lady. Her platonic friends were wonderful mares, yes, but her prince would sweep her off her hooves any moment now, if only she were a little more lady-like. That's what she tells Twilight, anyhow.

A relationship is not always so easy to define, especially when the ponies involved are drawn in different directions. Yet it turns out that sometimes the answer to your problems really do lie in books. Even if you have to write them yourself.

Faced with the implications and changes brought about by Twilight's coronation, Rarity must contend with what it might mean for their relationship. A relationship, you see, that lives and dies by the dozens of books quietly stashed away in the back of her closet.

One day, she hopes, she'll be able to give them back.

(Takes place before/during/after the Season 9 finale.)
