Twilight has ruled Equestria for three centuries, spreading harmony throughout the lands both inside and outside of her country.

Now, her job is done. She is ready to let everything go. But before she does, she delivers one last speech.

Expanded from my entry to KrazyTheFox's 10th Anniversary Panic Write(alternatively 62nd Panic Write) at Quills and Sofas Speedwriting Group, where it placed 5th. Participants were given 30 minutes to write and 10 minutes to edit. The prompt was Friendship is Magic.

Edit, 06.13.2021: Even though this story is a sequel to Cocktails, no knowledge of the prequel is required as the story was meant to be a standalone fic.

All rulers eventually reach a point where they must take a life to save the realm. If a ruler is just, they will never know when it will happen, and will never do it lightly. Still, such actions are necessary. Princess Celestia knows this, and has given this lesson many times.

When Starlight Glimmer tricked Twilight Sparkle into freezing a filly Rainbow Dash in crystal, the sonic rainboom was prevented. This sent a wave of chaos through the timesteam as destiny unraveled, and empowered Discord. He is quite curious as to who exactly was evil enough to cast a potentially lethal spell at a filly.

After her coronation as sole ruler of Equestria, Twilight could really go for some ice cream.

Twilight finds a book written by Celestia hidden in her castle, and plans to publish it. But as she tries to unravel its mysteries, she wonders who it was written for, and why.

All her life, Strata has been driven by her thirst for discovery and the sense of worth gained from unearthing the history of the world. However, when she risks everything by venturing deep into the Everfree Forest on a hunch, fueled by pride and dreams of grandeur, she doesn't consider that the object she seeks might just be seeking her in return.

Apple Bloom is called out to the big barn on Nightmare Night, told she will be learning about a family tradition she did not know even existed. When she arrives, she finds there is more to Sweet Apple Acres than she would ever have expected.
