YEEEESSSSS. Now I'll read the chapter.

Over a million words...
You have a lot of free time, don't you?
Seriously what the hell?
It's amazing you wrote THAT much, but isn't it a little...much?
I don't want to sound like a douche here. It's just...bizarre. I've never came across such a long story in my life!
You have GOT to write a side story about Celestia and Flo's conversation.
That was so much better than I thought it would be, and I thought it would be pretty bloody good. That line about shit creek had me in stitches!
Welp, didn't go quite as bad as I expected. In fact, this might've been a plus all things considered.
Idea! Was NMM caused by a rogue air elemental that didn't get locked up?

I'm pretty sure it was stated that Discord corrupted her.
1.1 million words? . Well, better get readin!
2866166
Good luck, took me three months reading twenty thousand words per day on average.
Also: more than two updates in the space of two months? Insanity is becoming of you, author.
i.neoseeker.com/mgv/60953/953/87/7762_animated_fluttershy_yay_display.gif
Awesome. Glad you finally updated. Can't wait for the Europe party. Those things are always awesome. Keep em' comin'! Alright time to get to work...* cracks knuckles* refresh, refresh, refresh, refresh,. DAMNIT MAN!!!
WOOT, this ended better than i expected. I thought Celestia would at least confiscate the computer.
I do hope that Discord is paving the way for Navarone to finally have some peace of mind in the crazy world he has been thrown into. Given some things that the Princesses have done to him and how he is on peaceful term with pretty much every other nation on the planet, I can see Navarone helping Discord overthrow Celestia and Luna when the time comes.
Then again, I also see him outsmarting the insane immortal entity and bringing him down with him, or inheriting the cheat codes to life Discord has. I could also just see this whole story being Discord orchestrating his own destruction and raising a new master of chaos to take his place, not burdened by the insanity of eternity.
I can see this story going in so many directions, but with all of the details thrown in, I can't quite be sure what is true and what is not. I absolutely adore this story for that fact alone. Too often I can predict how a story will go, just after a few chapters, but I have not had that problem here. I love your story, I love you for updating it so frequently and I really hope Navarone get to stab Luna with something... right through the chest, twisting it around and reminding her that it was exactly what drove him away from her.
Cover art reminds me of "The Trial" by Pink Floyd.
But man, that word count is long.
2866140
All those memories got erased from Luna and Celestia's minds.
This was a pretty great chapter, lots of shit happened. Do you plan on making a new story entry for when Nav leaves Equestria or just keep posting on this one?
Vampires, I am not that surprised by it. Kind of expected it. Great chapter, lots of tension. I honestly thought that Celestia would have wanted to take Navs laptop at the end of it and that Flo would have gotten screwed. Happy ending for all, apparently. Celestias dream, did you just make it whatever or tried to go for the whole Freudian subconscious meaning of dreams?
On a unrelated topic, what keeps you writing?
2866363
Insanity.
As for Celestia's dream, sometimes good dreams go bad. She would love Nav has her knight for a number of reasons. But something in the dream happened and it turned to darkness.
2866347
I've been debating that in my head. I'll probably keep it here, in this one.
2866209
Heh, took me two weeks of non-stop reading every day all day. Though during though during those two weeks I was about as productive as a Ouroboros.
Well... it has been a pretty serious yet dark point in the story.
Was it really a good idea to open a door by letting the alicorn even near the laptop alone?
I know Flo was their and talking to the sun pony but what if she already knew about everything already and was leading Nav along with her sister to keep some over complicated final evil under wraps or something?
Maybe I am looking at this wrong?
Might as well enjoy the how deep the rabbit hole goes anyways...
Thank goodness that Fluttershy is the one with the cute bunny costume.
Ultimately I would say Celestia is the one to blame for this mess.
2866209 took me 13 days... man I spend too much time reading.
This is one of the longest stories that has somehow continued to drag me back every time you update. On that note, bravo good sir you have managed to capture my attention for more than 60 minutes something not even BlackWing's Griffin The Griffin could do.
2866435 I'd suck it even if I was just straight.
He's too good to us sometimes. Of course, then shit goes to hell, but... still.
Things are finally starting to wind down, after all this mess...
Or are they? Keep in mind, we still have Discord acting in the shadows with Trixie, Miguel... I swear he had one or two others with him, but I can't recall. He has been disturbingly absent recently, apart from that one mention of him last chapter, with Watcher.
I think he might truly fear that Navarone could stop him... with the help of all the others, but still.
It's a serious possibility.
2866038
I think it's great! =D
The most detailed character and we actually see all of his backstory! We see how he has slowly changed from what he was when he was first summoned, to what he is now and how events have emotionally and physically damaged him. We seen how he's gained and lost friends and allies and where he's come from from the start of it all!
It's almost enough to make into a feature length film lasting like 2 hours!! =p
And this is no where near finished! XD
2866038
I've been following this story for months, bro. Trust me, it goes in all kinds of crazy directions. Even the newest chapter that got it featured had some great stuff in it.
Update? Hell yes!!
I've read longer stories. Pokemon fanfiction granted, but still. I've seen a 5 mil word story once on fan fiction, but I don't remember what it was for. Anyways I know what Taya and Nav can do together... Each other! Hehe
I really hope Nav turns out to be Discord and his mind meshes with Discord latter on, but the side effect is that Discord becomes Nav and Nav becomes discord.
bit of a 40k fan huh?
Hah, I just go to find the link to google docs to check how the latest chapter is going, only to find you've already finished and posted it. Awesome.
I can't wait for Celestia to find out that Navarone is Discord in disguise
That will happen, won't it?
And now im really curious about what Flo screamed at Celly's face.
Loved the Blossom part, its interesting and it "read" very well, very natural.

This comment. I agree with.

Took me a week and a half, probably less, of non-stop reading from 9/10:00am-10:00pm

I'm fairly certain Discord and Navarone are not one in the same. Navarone does stuff that Discord does not want him to do, which supports they aren't the same being. Also, when people comment their lack of support for an 'evil Taya', the author often says she's only following Discord because she is loyal to Navarone and Discord told her he is Navarone. He also says this might not be permanent, implying they aren't the same.
2866541
Personally I'm thinking that Discord's master plan is to kill himself, and Navarone is his key player in doing that
2867854 Nobody would see it coming!
2867895
So... What do you think? Agree or disagree?
2867854
I can't help but feel that way as well. In chapter seventy-seven he said "my attempt at suicide had been thwarted by none other than myself". The only issue with this is that Discord has said that he's going to be living until there's only one creature alive and "there can at last be peace"(Prologue). He's immortal for a reason, he lives because there's discord among the sentient creatures of the planet. So unless another way of killing him is discovered, he's going to try to wipe out all sentient life just like he tried to do with humanity all that time ago.
2867956
He might be raising Navarone up to kill him and be his successor
2867967
Like I said, I think he's trying to use Navarone to kill everyone, perhaps using some assortment of human weapons locked away in the Zone of Alienation. Or maybe he'll use Navarone to create a World War of sorts so they'll all kill each other, just like Discord did with humanity. Either way, Navarone will probably end up saving everyone and finding an alternative way to kill Discord. Navarone becoming Discord's successor doesn't really make any sense to me, Navarone is just a pawn.
Hmm, I just thought of something.
Does the phrase 'Tractor sand blue burn' need to be said by Celestia... Or anyone.
And on the same subject, it's just a plain kill switch for Navarone, right?

**dives in from high-orbit**

and
These quotes clearly illustrates that Discord is actually Navarone, give or take some memorial facts. Obvious signs were shown that Discord was Navarone when he was burnt to a crisp by the ethereal equivalent of a microwave laser, and subsequently stabbed through the heart (something literally impossible to survive without anything short of a freaking heart-transplant)
Hints they may be, but they be hints about as subtle as a freaking aircraft carrier. Made of diamond encrusted platinum.
And lasors.
**flies back into low orbit**
2868336
Discord's also a liar. Remember that.
2868331
Just Celestia. And you might see.
in chapter 86 when he sees the red glow before the thing tackles him, that should be impossible because in a few chapters prior to that luna said you could only see the glow from outside the dream
2868336
Your only proof is him saying 'I'? I can easily render that argument null using several points of proof.
1. Navarone has an entire backstory that has been validated within the context of his journals. He was born on Earth and lived a life up to his senior highschool year. He had parents and a sister. When he went back in time, his sister recognized him when he had a reunion with her. He also was very upset when he learned he wasn't even human anymore and that his parents died.
However let's assume that all of his journal entries are false. Navarone has said before that he's lied in his journal and we can also assume if Discord WAS Navarone, then he would write fake thoughts in his journal so anyone reading it would think Navarone was more legit. So that being said, we can only trust 'Notes from Discord'. Let's move on.
2. Chapter Seventy-Two, Navarone tries to return to his time. Discord says in his note that he was canceling the time-unicorns' magic with his own. So then the question becomes, why would Discord be going to go through such great lengths to disallow Navarone from going into the past when Navarone himself provoked this issue on himself? Logically, if they were the same person, Navarone would not have even bothered to attempt this, as it doesn't coincide with what Discord wants.
3. Chapter Seventy-Seven, Discord reflects back on what transpired in chapter seventy-two. Although it's a few chapters ahead, he had this revelation at that moment Navarone went back in time, it was only told to us now because we wouldn't have understood it if it was explained then. Discord says his suicide attempt was thwarted because of "ideas given to them by one time traveling living construct." Discord wanted to die, he says so in his note. He's never changed his mind about that fact either. He regrets even starting the game because of this. See, in the prologue it is said, to sum it up, that he will live until there is no more fighting/conflict in the world, and that wouldn't happen until all sentient life was dead. So that being said, the most obvious way he can prevent his own suicide was by creating more life, which is what the humans did after meeting Navarone and hearing his story. So the question becomes, if Discord realized this error, why did Navarone continue on with what he was doing? Discord should have put a stop to the whole incident before Navarone even made contact. One of discord's biggest blunder was caused by himself, he should be able to fix it. He didn't, because he couldn't.
4. Chapter Fifty, Discord begins teaching Taya 'real magic', but tells her to not practice it in front of Navarone. The reason he gives her is because the princesses watch through his eyes all the time and he says even with the ring the princesses can watch him if they use real magic. I'm sorry, what? Yes it's true the princesses can watch him using real magic, but they can just as easily watch Taya with regular magic AND real magic. His reasoning is completely flawed, the only way to ensure no one spies on her is to freeze time. The princesses never use real magic outside of rotating the planet anyways. Discord says himself that the princesses never use real magic anymore anyways because he convinced them it was evil. So why then, is he so paranoid they'll use it to spy on Navarone? The only reason he doesn't want her to do it around him is because they aren't the same people.
Those are my main reasons. This excludes all the hints dropped by the author in the comments, but I really don't want to have to dig those up.
2868653
How long do you really think Luna got to look at them before they kicked her out? She didn't have a chance to see them very well because they were on her in an instant.
2868668
>See, in the prologue it is said, to sum it up, that he will live until there is no more fighting/conflict in the world, and that wouldn't happen until all sentient life was dead.
That's just what Discord believes. He might be wrong. He doesn't honestly know.
2868713
Right, I was just pointing out how and why Discord was going about killing himself the way he did.
2868970
The prologue doesn't destroy any chance of him failing. He is not omniscient, he doesn't know everything. He doesn't know all the circumstances he can die because he's never reached that limit. We don't yet know all the ways he can fail, we can only wait to find out.
