Also, FUCK Aqua, dis bitch gonna get evaporated
Jesus Christ.
Spike is the best bro. Definitely one of the better friends Nav has,
Also, Aqua? Completely unexpected. That was actually bloody brilliant
Jesus christ... how the hell is this going to turn out? I guess it's a good thing that Nav doesn't know where that seed will end up.
Pretty good twist with Aqua. Looking forward to when Taya forcefully removes her from Nav, not wanting her mom to be a slave, then deep sixes her through evaporation.
I fucking lost it a Nav cheering.
Woo!
Oh shit...
Simple solution. Seed planted, piss off Spike, get incinerated with Aqua. Let Blaze go apeshit on the waters and problem solved.
Congratulations are in order whatmustido, if your plan was to make me feel utterly revolted. The very nature of the act Aqua committed is enough to bring about sentiments of revulsion and repugnance, but the fact that Aqua precipitated such an offense leaves the whole situation smelling rank. The worst part is, I can't even be too irate at what Aqua is doing, sure she routed Celestia and Nav in an incorrigible manner - she does not have my sympathy when this blows over - but she is still trying to accomplish what she believes to be right; and I don't believe Navarone is being completely truthful in his diary entries over the course of the discussion that occurred at the ending of the chapter. I have my reservations over the matter of nonconcensual control over another individual, one of them being the incorporeal nature of self, and I've been thinking about this for awhile, but, I don't believe Navarone has been in control for a while now. I'll hold my tongue on any specific reasons, however, as I'm still not too sure about this. What prompted this line of thought was the very nature of diary entries and the unreliable nature of first person narration.
Anyways, I digressed, thank you whatmustido, I am now completely, incontrovertibly, disgusted.

Yeah, but then revived nav is left not knowing that aqua is evil now, and the whole thing might occur again if she's not careful. Also, it removes a good backup plan until Nav can get more seeds. And Aqua is really the only one who went insane here. Best option would be to evaporate her and then use that as a warning for the other waters if they try to do the same thing.
Gotta admit.. Did not see that one coming just yet. Then again, Nav got many ways out. One being the dream thingy, if she can just do it quick enough, another would be going into athena's book, the next thing is, there is already a seed secured. Also I know that Aqua can just force her to do things. That is bad, I know. BUTT, if she does so in public, it would turn out problematic. So actually, if Nav just can oddly behave around the people that are very close to her and maybe even just get the word aqua out, she would be in the clear, or at least very close to it. Heck, she even could get killed easily, better than a psycho with a godcomplex ruling things, even if it is a SORTA benevolent psycho.
I reckon Aqua will make Nav go to a party and enjoy it. That’s how I reckon Aqua will be found out.

wait what? He can't die? When did he say that to Celestia
Wow not gonna go into too many details but blaze was fkn right. So far outta 11 water elementals 4 have blackmailed/coerced/manipulated/changed others. I hope nav gets Flo back her manipulation was at least constructive. Man too bad a certain individual ...no spoiler.... forgot about ava and a certain zebra who can listen to the dead ... they are gonna have quite a conversation.
For some reason, the moment i read through the description of nav's dress I immediately thought of something like this.

Well, at least he got his save state before he got brainslaved
Meh. Seems kinda hamfisted in.

He thinks Nav is Discord and the rules in the prologue are not bogus.

This comment thread is going to be packed to the brim with theories about how to free Nav from Aqua's control, with nobody remembering that with the Aqua development Nav is no longer important. There are plenty of ways to "disinfect" Nav of Aqua's control and they're all totally meaningless because Aqua also has control of Celestia. It kinda sucks that any rescue attempt basically hinges on Aqua being retarded, all she has to do is spend ten consecutive seconds thinking about ways to exploit the resources of her hosts to defend herself and she's unstoppable. The precedent is certainly there, forcibly taking control of Celestia runs counter the goals of most if not all the other water elementals, she's permanently destroyed any trust they could have gained of world leaders. If Moonbeam doesn't give Naiad the boot as soon as she finds out about this, I'll be surprised.
Anyway, I'm not even talking about a vague "Celestia is powerful because of course she is." Just teleportation by itself is an "I Win" button. Nav gets freed, so what? Aqua knows immediately, Celestia just teleports him back to Aqua and he's reinfected. Not even getting into the princess shield Aqua has - it's more important to free Celestia first than Nav. Option B is trying to reason with her (she's insane so...). And option C is assassination before she can solidify her base. whatmustido might actually kill off a character in the next chapter....
Well. This was huge.
I thought elementals weren't supposed to be able to go insane.
The humans who programmed Aqua and the other crazy water need to be fired . . . or would be if they weren't already dead.
I personaly hate this chapter... only because of Aqua, it just makes everything... Wrong and the fact that tia didnt have a counter measure for this to happen is such BS
With all that we have seen this shouldnt or cannot of happened, it seemed that this was put in to make it more intresting....
The fact is i liked where the story was going, and what was going on next but this? has kinda just made it hollow, showing us that nav has no chance in hell now and makes me wonder why this was even done
8798435
Who is Mist?
Aqua's condition is a consequence of her hosting Sombra.
8798322
I was thinking Princess Peach actually. All she's missing is a crown.
I know she's designed to be that way, but Aqua infuriates me. She is every self-righteous person I have ever known, totally convinced that they know what is right. No matter what anyone else says or how horrible her ideas are, she's already made the decision and justified it eternally in her own head.
That is some brilliant writing to make me hate someone so much but fuck. I wish you hadn't written this because now I can't get any shit done tonight. I'm just going to be steamed about some watery bitch who doesn't even exist.

For me, this needs to happen and soon. I love this story so goddamn much and because of that, knowing how utterly fucked Nav is just... I just can't deal with that. I'm literally going to skip the next couple chapters until I know for a fact that Aqua has been removed from Nav and subsequently thrown into the very core of a volcano.
That probably means I'm weak but I don't care. I just CAN'T.
I have to say that of all the theories people are talking about for how Nav will escape this—if he even does escape, considering that WhatMustIDo has pulled some fastballs on us before—the most likely would be the other water elementals discovering this. From what I can tell, Aqua is intentionally keeping them in the dark about this because they wouldn't "understand she's doing this for the greater good, etc etc". Provided that Nav meets one of those watery fuckers and they're not so easily convinced by Aqua's lunacy, he might be in the clear.
But considering that I'm fairly certain none of us even expected this situation in the first place, we shouldn't be surprised if the rest of this fiction could be called "Aqua and Slaves Save the World!".
yeah, thats one elemental who's not surviving very long after this.
It is both. Twilight has literally been rubbing off on her. On a nightly basis.
"Led". What you have here is the metal.
This is... way too relatable. Also, there are extra spaces.
This chapter ended darker than any chapter since the bunker. Holy crap, dude.
Well played.
~KBO.
This covers my feelings pretty well, just... Jesus Christ that twist
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FLYING. ELEMENAL. FUCK!? How is the coma spell going to work now, what’s going to happen with the seeds, how is aqua going to be stopped. What the fuck, this changes everything. Every event I was excited for is now a fucking side note to this, this is game changing. There aren’t enough phrases to describe my reaction to this chapter
Once again you fucking pull it out of the bag with an amazing chapter that exceeds expectations. Bravo bravo.
Also I think the bunker is going to have something which stops aqua hopefully.
I wonder if that part dragon can help get Aqua out, we know dragons are too hot to be water hosts. In any case this is a super interesting turn of events.

Realistically, I expect a Flo and Aqua smackdown with Spike/Blaze torching the loser.
couldnt have waited until chapter 169 for him to get fucked over eh?
Well.. shit just went sideways fast.
Wat...the...fuuuuck?
I want Nav to get a super suit that's just the 2nd MCU Scarlet Witch costume.
Wow. Just wow.
I’m part of the group that doesn’t like this twist. I’ve been reading these chapters since she’s gotten back as essentially interesting filler until Tartarus. It also feels like the author just likes torturing the main character. As she’s pointed out, she’s never had a time to relax and decompress. I kind of just wanted a couple of chapters and then the long self-reflecting dream and then Tartarus and confirmation or denial about the Fire Elemental from Tartarus being his final elemental...which might just be how he frees himself but that just sounds stupid. They’re has been abuse after abuse on the main character and if this extends that long it’s going to be frustrating and annoying for a lot of people. In retrospect this twist CAN work but it’s not one that’s well foreshadowed that it seems inevitable. I also find it completely uninteresting and a waste of time. What’s going to result from this? People realizing Nav is acting weird at times, I mean she literally said she’d control Nav when interacting with Taya, which will be a big red flag. It’s the obvious thing which leads to 2 possibilities, it’s done and it’s predictable/boring or it’s not and seems like wasted foreshadowing. *sigh* I feel like I should just wait the few months for multiple chapters and then just skim until we get through this.
Or maybe I’ll get lucky and this will be retconned later (there is precidence for that).
Edit: I think I’ve figured out why this bothers me so much. It’s because it’s so depressing and dark that this is the straw that broke the camels back for me and moves this story into Darkness Induced Apathy where it’s just gotten so dark and bleak, I just don’t care. Warning tvtropes link: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DarknessInducedAudienceApathy something of the latter type where it’s gotten so bleak and hopeless I just don’t care. What’s worse is that there’s technically NOTHING from the perspective of Nav that we’ll be able to see about how Nav gets free because Nav’s thoughts are BEING read and Nav can be controlled at any time (with the possibility this shows something is wrong but still controlled), if not straight up mind raped to forget, think, or act however her mind reader/controller wants.
Holy SHIT.
And after looking at quotes and moments in tvtropes for this story, I know why the author specifically mentioned and forced Nav to not bring a weapon when he saw Celestia. Death over slavery. That’s a theme that’s been hit twice in this story before. Ugh.
Nav still needs to give the cursed dragon armor to Athena.
Oohhhhh fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck......
I was hoping he'd at least make a hail Mary call to Discord for a deus ex machina.
I think that as soon as Nav sees Twilight again he's just going to say PUT ME IN A CONA RIGHT NOW DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT
Question: If the original Nav was involved in making the elementals, then what happens when he gets a soul and is freed from discords control? Does he regain those memories that discord is keeping from him? Possibly including Admin access?
Hey if it takes a psychotic and manipulative water elemental to get Nav back with Celestia then so be it!
I just hope Twilight and the fire and air elementals find out what is going on and save them before their personalities get too warped...
I don't comment often but this chapter is one of the most impressive I've seen. Damn good work.
You know I'm surprised so far no one has talked about kat because I'm pretty sure she followed him even though he told her not to that's how I think they're going to find out aqua it's controlling Celesta and him but you know I might be wrong will be interesting to see how you actually do it
I mean. . . wow. This is some next level shit. Truthfully, the only escape I see is interference from discord or suicide and resurrection via magic seed. What a twist. Whatmustido has still got it.
Also, anyone think Nav's about to get some new body parts over in the Griffon lands? He's got a hand or two that needs modification. . .
8798036
I always thought of it as paying rent. The government owns the land, we pay to live in it, we pay to be able to grow food on it, and we pay to sell stuff on it.
The point where it gets iffy is tax cuts and incentives. They aren’t inherently bad, but can be abused pretty fucking easily. It’s like the homeowner laying off rent a bit if you do some house work for them or pay it in other ways. Problem is when one person they are renting out to gets these incentives when others don’t.
There’s also the matter of tax money being Pocketed, which is actually just straight up theft. Like if the homeowner had you pay them to repair some damage to the house, but than they just found the cheapest option and pocketed the rest.
Anyways, this is not the place for debating tax policy or really anything unrelated to this fic.
And in that spirit:
How the bloody hell does WMID make these twists so out of the blue yet have them work so well?! I was expecting celestia to off Nav, and was fully preparing myself for it. Instead, we get Aqua goin full evil bitch, with consequences we probably aren’t even beginning to consider but that WMID had been thinking over for bloody ages!
Every update has the potential to bring whatever arc is going on to a complete stop, and start a whole new one. You never have any kind of warning. How the hell does this work so well?! This goes against everything I learned it collage English, yet it works wonderfully!
So I ask you this, WMID. How the fuck do you manage this? How do you break so many rules, yet come out on top?
