Welp, Luna seemed to be rather understanding after using him like a rag doll. He really does have no private life does he? Big Sister is always watching.
Seems Spike merely went through a growth spurt stage and he needs to level out before he's back to normal.

Genetics doesn't work that way in this story. There's only one instance of confusion wherein there's a chance he gets someone pregnant. There are half breeds, but they're rare and explained later on in the story.
And yes, Luna was most understanding. She is an adult, after all. A six thousand year old adult. Her sister just seems to forget that sometimes.
1219014
I figured in a world filled with magic genetics kind of jumped the boat and swam far away from this mess.
1219741
Nay, biology holds supreme. These are all human engineered animals. Some were made directly by humans and some evolved from species the humans made. Either way, they are still all made from biology. At the stage of time past the nuclear war that wiped out most of humanity, there was no knowledge of magic; it died out when Discord turned Rome and the Saxons against Britain, killing the druids and Merlin. It took the alicorns to revive it. So until then, everything was done by biology. The only thing that can overwrite genetics is a fruit and possibly Chrysalis, both of which will be explained later on.
1219815
So humans are almost responsible for everything. Kind of like the Ancients from Star Gate. Can Navi learn magic then or is unicorn magic different from human magic?
Also a dragon that is crazy old might remember a human. If he sees him he might want to kidnap him because he would be considered a priceless treasure. Now who is the damsel in distress, HA!
1221263
Nah, that was longer than any dragon's memory.
And anyone could learn magic. There's a very big difference between magic and spells in my story. Magic can be done by anyone. Spells can be done by unicorns. However, Celestia was encouraged by one insane magic user that brought on a nearly permanent winter to begin phasing magic out and using spells only. Discord's whispers from his statue also helped convince her. Star Swirl helped her create spells. Clover the Clever was the first pony taught only spells. Celestia, Luna, and Chrysalis are the only three that actually know how to do magic, which is how Celestia and Luna 'raise the sun and moon.' They don't actually do that, they just have the power to turn the earth if they need to prove it to anyone. The reason the 'long winter' isn't remembered accurately is because Celestia modified history a lot to make it look like the ponies were always at peace. So instead, wendigos were blamed and friendship was shown as saving everyone. The reality was a lot more unpleasant and also unimportant. That's my headcanon for it, anyway.
Also, you need to stop getting me to reveal sort of spoilers. I mean, none of this is important plot wise, but most of it is explained in the story much, much later on.

So really the only one who really remembers is Discord. Who was the first creation of man after their fall from grace. If we want to get biblical. So are humans just goofing off in the afterlife now or something?
1221408
Yeah, humans are all dead. The last ones were so heavily modified that they wouldn't be recognizable as 'humans' like we know anyway. There is some evidence of humanity, but not much. It's been a long damn time and the oldest known dragon is only around twelve thousand years old, whereas Celestia and Luna are both six thousand or so. So as you can imagine, the dragons are less than impressed with Celestia's claim of moving the sun. After several repeated... examples... they were taught their place.
1221446
Just to be silly you could always have a bunch of humans trapped in a ancient vessel, ala Red Dwarf, they randomly crash back onto earth after a failed space experiment. Pop up to find themselves in the Planet of the Ponies and a single human. That would screw everyone's day up.
1221506
That would be a bad day for those humans. If they crashed in a few places they would pretty much instantly be killed by either the wildlife or the natives. There are a few places in Africa, Asia, South America, Siberia, Europe, and Canada that would kill them given the chance, just because they looked different. If they landed in Equestria, though... I might do a spinoff where something like that happens and Nav has to show them the ropes. Since he effectively becomes sterile soon, there would be no worries about him having a kid.
1221568
Sterile...in a place where magic can heal his punctured lungs and broken bones. Dang that must have been a very, very bad day.
1221602
You have eleven chapters until you find out what happens. I could update it all right now... but where's the fun in that? I'd still have... about twenty-four chapters if I published everything I have on FIM right now.
1221632
Not like it really matters. He doesn't seem to be the type to really want kids...with anything that moves in that world. I don't blame him.
I can wait anyway.
*sigh* as much as I hate to bring this up. A lot of people have touched the subject of people influenceing equestria, all of them bad. Face it humanity you suck, big time.
Damn you why must this story be so awesome?
I have been stuck in the "just one more chapter" phase for the last 9 chapters
Srsly tho epic story so far
whos amazing
you are
I remember you saying things were going to get really good then all the shit from little villages in Africa is going to hit the fan. (In case you don't get tht water in Africa is VERY polluted and can sometimes cause nasty diarrhea).
1219815
I know, I know this is a VVEEERRYYY old comment, but it got me thinking. If Humans we're alive at that time, and the nuclear war wiped out nearly every human... is it possible... that humans used to live on Equestria? Navarone wasn't teleported through the universe, but instead through time? Well, I guess this question may be answered later on.
2917445 i assume it wasnt nessisarily through time. discord essential picked a random human out of his mind and threw it into a body. it could have remembered things from a past that never was there. theres also the possibility the discord is humanity itself congrecated into a single lifeform so to say. this means he just plucked one of the human's mind and placed it in a body. there seems to be some ppl forgetting the prolouge. nav IS discord but he doesnt know it.
2917445
I believe in the prologue, Discord mentioned the humans as one of the earliest, and most interesting beings, that once inhabitated the planet, which would mean Equestria's planet, that I always assumed is called 'Equis' for the ponies, because of some other storys I've read, was indeed once Earth.
Discord also said, they lived a few million (or billion? I'm not sure and it doesnt matter actually) years ago, in fact so long ago, that the atmosphere of the planet changed over the ages in a manner, which made it impossible for any human to survive in Equestria, if they were brought there in an instand. That said he had to make a few adjustments with Nav's physiology, to ensure his safety once he got there (or else he might have just died of asphyxiation for example).
In other words Nav isn't really a normal human being anyway, atleast regarding his physiology, but the modifications are probably invisible to him, since most changes were made on his internal organs to compute with the atmosphere.
2372309 Balance Through Body and Mind disagrees.
Nav has a vary large imagination. He'd be shot out of the air by a missile before he could evan get close too the capitol.
“I know it’s impractical, but man! I have this picture in my head now of me riding into Washington, DC astride a huge, majestic dragon, my wings fully outspread and a sword held high above my head, proclaiming that spot the new Mecca of the world, where I would rule humanity as a god emperor…”
I, for one, embrace our new Dragon riding Angel master. he can't be worse than most other politicians.
3310315 Yeah! And spike would start spitting fireballs towards them.
I mean seriously, I think he wouldn't care overly much, if RD is as resilient as Jet and Spike is waaaaay more resilient than a pony, even when he's young, I don't think missiles would do much.
1221632 Reading through I've found a couple problems, you need to change the Zecora section of this and in your rewrite you have gone away from any journal references so you might need to clear that up in the begining of the story. Anything else I notice as I'm rereading ill comment on
Title: Love advice, again.
ermagerd... i found an error...
for someone that wrote this story so perfectly, i dont think it'll take long to find the error
i was thinking of "love affairs" as a title
i dunno, its sounded good
3611162
Fixed and changed the title.

Run. THE CIA ARE COMING!!!!!
I told myself I'd go to bed tonight at 1:00AM, I got stuck in "Just one more chapter", and it's now 5:11AM
1221568 But you mentioned that humans couldn't survive the atmosphere? Human spacesuits'd be too primitive for a magic-filled atmosphere, especially considering how earlier you mentioned the Nav could feel magic fields, like he was sensitive to them and he was modified by discord. I'd imagine that a normal human would fry in Equestria, even with a suit.

Btw, I like your profile picture.
The name kind of fits with Jackal Queenston
You deserve a
Imagine what would happen if someone with a sex drive happened to appear in this version of Equestria....
4375312 Chaos, baby, Chaos. Sayonara.
I'm not sure what I just ripped off, but I totally just ripped something off. (quoted something, or stole someone's phrase, or something)
So is there an actual melody you based Lyras song on?
4764297
It's been a while, but it might have been the Siege of Madrigal.
I wanna sleep, damnit! Your fucking story prevents that and creates Insomnia! Why do you have to write such a good story?
4833531 I know how you feel bro!
I'd never herd that word before so I looked up the meaning, I could have gone with out knowing and lived a very happy life. Unfortunately curiosity killed that cat, and I had no sense of satisfaction to bring it back.
4833531 Happened to me too! I'm sometimes awake to 5 am... my sleep schedule is so fucked!
Hum...Interesting.
So, just throwing this out there: Lyra tells Nav about her arrangement with Bon-Bon, either so he can get in on it, or to keep him from yapping if he spies her behind the bushes one quiet afternoon.
Not that it would ever be any of my business, but I smell something fishy...and it's not Lyra. She's involved, but it's not her.
5359623 melodramatic much? there's a ton of worse fetishes than voyeurism
5359623 You should look up vores. You'll feel better about voyeurism if you do pinkie promise!
It took me a while to realize the links between the prologue and later events, and when I did I had to go back to the beginning to find it. I may be off track, but I'm pretty sure the jealousy and the voyeurism didn't naturally coexist in Bon-Bon before Discord's deal (not that they couldn't, but just that they didn't in this case). From the prologue:
We've definitely seen the unicorn seeking monsters (the assault on Nav), the mad king (Africa), and presumably now the jealous thoughts, though that could also have been Trixie. And the migration could be the naga, or could be yet to come.
Or I could just be totally over-interpreting everything. Guess we'll see.
I'm sorry for cracking up at this line...
Context:
-Updated chapter-wise. 5th-7th time reading through (Don't remember).
-Huge dose of caffeine

[insert creepy whisper-like breeze..
ortheotherwayaround]You will see..
I am somewhat confused by the large amount of spoilers for future chapters in the comments, ie spoilers from chapter 40 during chapter 18. This hasn't been much of a problem on other stories I have read on here.
6540406
I did put a warning in the story's description about that. It's definitely a thing that happens in my comments.
6540406 simple solution don't read the comments
