Whinifree

Your friendly neighborhood snuggle dragon (who just happens to be in Umbreon form at the moment)!

First it was stealing Sunny's lantern. Then it was snatching up little baby dragon Sparky. Misty has just failed in not one, but two critical missions Opaline ordered of her. Though she had tried her absolute hardest, that didn't stop Opaline from really letting her have it—so much so that Misty begins to reflect on where she's at in life.

What’s more, she thought about the nice, earth pony stallion employee who greeted her, and told her about the numerous services the salon offered.

Pegasus not earth pony.

Yikes that’s a pretty big goof. Fixed and thankie.

This was a good exploration of Misty's character. I enjoyed it.

Great little study of G5: Chapter Two's most interesting character. Thanks for writing it

I just wanna reach through that screen and give poor Misty a big ol’ hug every time she’s on screen. But until we learn how to cross dimensions through our screens this’ll have to do.

A lot of folks think Misty will have a heel-face turn and join the Mane Five.

Is it wrong that I'm of the opinion that she could just as easily usurp Opaline and become a new villain?

Why both both? Her being pushed into a corner by Opaline, lashing out, falling even deeper down a path of evil only to be shown friendship and forgiveness by the Mane 5 is a rather compelling character arc.

The rock we all push, us fanfic writers.

11398187 Keep up the good work with your writing. :3

The former is the most likely to happen and I hadn't thought of the latter.
11398370
Now that would be a pretty cool arc.

Of course. :raritywink:

Eh, I suppose part of me is hoping the writers will deviate from MLP: FIM again by not going for the usual "reformation and acceptance" gig. They've already done so by making a pony the main villain and making her a constant threat over the season.

We're only 8 episodes into a two dozen episode season so who knows what could happen. Stockholm Syndrome aside, Misty really is a little sweetie pie and part of me feels like she really wants to see Opaline as a kind of adoptive mother. Even if Opaline doesn't get a redemption, after all is said and done, I think Misty would want to remember her not as the brute she's being now, but as the one who saved her from being homeless, and having met and befriended the Mane 5 thanks to her. Again who knows. We have a long way to go in MYM still and literally anything could happen. I can kind of see something in the fan theory that Opaline is actually a corrupted Flurry Heart much like Nightmare Moon was a corrupted Luna. G4 didn't do a whole lot with Flurry after her debut, and the only real history we've been shown so far is one of Opaline's lines: "finish what I started all those moons ago with Twilight Sparkle," thus implying she's actually from that same era. We'll just have to wait and see.

I deserved that, she thought. I deserved that because I failed… again. I failed again.

Maybe it's just me, but Misty deserves a hug.

That Zipp though… I really got to hoof it to her. She figured me out like there was a liar liar tail on fire sign stapled right to my forehead.

Zipp: "Actually, it was more like a phony pony full of baloney, but close enough."

“Hopefully this can still be cleaned,” she said. “I’m sure that, ‘getting Misty a new pillow,’ isn’t exactly high on Opaline’s priorities.”

I'd be surprised if it would be on her list at all.

If I don’t shape up, Opaline will probably kick me out.

That might actually be a blessing in disguise for her.

Good story!
I enjoyed reading it.

This is very touching, I hope misty gets her cutie mark for saving her friends. She deserves better.
