This, this is the story of MYM. A story of forgiveness. Not for Opaline, but for Misty. Forgiving the pony Opaline turned her into and rediscovering who she used to be with the help of her loved ones.

This was quite good!

Opaline, a once powerful and enigmatic alicorn, had succumbed to the allure of dark magic and threatened to consume all of Equestria. Misty, along with her friends, had managed to thwart Opaline's plans, but not without sacrifices. The alicorn had been captured and trapped within a mystical tree, the very tree that now stood in the ruins of Opaline's castle.

To be honest that's actually brutal how she was defeated

"The worst part," Misty added, her tone dropping to a whisper, "was that she almost succeeded. Equestria was on the brink of destruction. Families torn apart, friendships shattered. The very fabric of our world was unraveling because of her actions."

Which she did that thousands of years ago and basically damaging ponies and creatures everywhere

I would say this is a pretty nice story here so it looks like Misty went back to her old place and even looking at the tree talking with it how she reflects about her past her experience with Opaline how much she mentally hurt her so much but she was trying to reflect of the good things when she got to meet Sunny and the others and she really wanted to forgive herself and even Opaline if she really wants it but she'll keep going and she won't give up and that's why I like about that this was a pretty good one keep up the good work Merry Christmas

Wow. This was such a great story!

Though it’s unlikely anytime soon, or at all, it would be nice if Opaline was reformed. Though I don’t think she should try being a motherly figure to Misty, she should more be her own independent pony.

I really like this, going back to the tree and talking to it and trying with Opaline. This gives Misty some closure of what could have been and what happened.
But I did have a thought with this episode. Misty was all happy everything back to normal asks “So what happen to Opaline, did she get away?” Sunny looks to the tree and states she’s somehow trapped inside, some of the others comment that’s how it should be as Misty slowly walks up to it, and places her hoof on the tree. Noticing Misty’s demeanor, Sunny shushes the others placing her hoof on her shoulder. Misty sadly says, “I know she didn’t care about me, but she was all I knew growing up, I just wish she could have changed instead.” Cue the others giving her a hug, reminding her of her family. Sunny replies maybe someday, someone can get her to understand.
Just something I had thought about watching it.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you (except for the part where Opaline shouldn't be a parent). Aside from the fact that doing so would risk cheapening Misty's arc, there is a point where forgiveness stops becoming acceptable, and I'd argue Opaline is well past that point.

Very much so!

Thank you!!!

True, like in the show is she actually dead or not is still up for debate...

I do think the show makes her underwhelming as a villain. She should have been portrayed as MUCH more capable. I know that her magic was weakened technically, but she still should have been able to wreak havoc like she did when the Mane 6 were at full power.

Thank you! I compare it to the human nature of wanting something to be different or change even though you know it won't. Like it be an ex or an old friendship etc. it's a pretty common place reaction to those situations.

I think if done right, any villain could be reformed. However, how much harder of a lesson would it be for Misty to have to realize Opaline had the capacity to love the entire time and be a good pony, but was never that way to her. Anyone can change, but that doesn't mean the victim of abuse has to be their friend. That would be a rough friendship lesson...

Yeah, I wish there was more closure to it all. Maybe in the new season???
